Yep, there is a seam right in the middle. I cut out the hex shape on both sides so they fully matched. It's basically impossible to see.
Perfect pattern for hiding the seam.

Lots of little stuff finished today.

Got the cage in. A bit more of a challenge with only two people, but I had a machine here luckily. I've got to say, not the biggest fan of this CAT, I much prefer Deere. It's a nice machine for sure, but I have a lot of little gripes about it.

Got the seat frame, seats, and part of the center console in.

I also got the amp, sub, and radio in and mostly wired. It'd going to be a really nice system when it is done.

I was finally able to get it back together enough to run again, and I am so glad I matted the tank. The fuel pump is so quiet now I had to put my hand on it to see if it was running. I thought I had messed up the wiring that it wasn't going. On the other hand, the horns go when only my right blinker is on, it doesn't don't with hazards or left side. I'll have to go chase that gremlin around a bit next weekend.

New rear sway bar came in.

Looks great, should be a nice improvement.

1 1/8 bar 46.5" wide.

Big round of PC done. New throttle pedal mount and modified brake pedal as well.

New Dakoda computer mount.

Dash is looking clean. I'm really liking the new look.

Started on switch wiring.

These are a bit more of a pain to get to turn on with headlights and when it is on. Worth it, though.

New gear indicator is great. Shows P R N and 1-8.

Ken Block would approve.

Just need a giant handbrake now.

Lol. I just like knowing what that trans is thinking, cause it does some funny stuff sometimes.

I want an indicator like that to let me know what you are up to, DJ. At the top of the forum, something that says what you are working on now and what you are up to next. Ha!

I don’t know how my notifications for this thread keep getting shut off. I’ve missed a few pages of progress. This thing looks awesome! I can’t wait to see it in person. Nice work. Keep it up.

Spent a long time on this today, but not a lot of pictures. Been working on getting all the new console switches wired in, they all take 2 diodes to be independently illuminated when the switch is pressed, and be dependent if the headlights are on. It just takes time lol.

Got the amp and sub fully wired with a 150A circuit breaker. The wiring turned out nice, and there is still a lot of space to store recovery gear under there.

Got the speakers wired in and mounted.

And stuck the top kinda on. I really like the headliner.

Well, this took about 2 weekends to get wired, but it's all done and working.

Got my door headers repainted after filling some extra holes as well.

You’re right…it’s better than most SEMA builds!

Ha, I wish. There was a lot more detail that I could have gone to here, and there was definitely some rushing. I wish I had more time, but it is what it is lol.

Thanks!

;)

Crazy busy day today, got everything back together and tested. Rear doors on, rear seats in, top and door headers bolted tight.

Car hasn't burned down yet, so I guess this chimp can still match colors to colors lol.

Took it for a nice test drive in the 95 degree heat. The new cooling system seems to be functioning much better, I never saw above 220 at good load pulling grade at 65mph, and it will drop back to 210ish on the flats, and sit on thermostat under 45mph. Not too bad, but I would like it to be closer to thermostat, but it's working well and not overheating, so I'm not worried. The real test will be SAS in a week.

On the downside, I must have a small leak in the A/C somewhere, as I only got about 15 minutes of running before the binary switch decided the pressure was too low. I hate chasing A/C leaks. I last charged it in early April before Cruise Moab after I wore through a hardline last year. Off to go find the UV light I guess.

I have a small list to get finished before SAS, but I can see the light at the end.

Biggest thing for me right now is getting the new rear swaybar in, it's a bit more body rolley than I like without it. This new bar is bigger and should be a nice upgrade to the old antirock I have on there.

Got some little stuff done over the week.

Matted the glovebox.

Got a new, OEM clamshell on.

20240730_194024.jpg

Cleaned up and wrapped the new wheel.

20240731_201425.jpg

Got the wheel installed.

And grip taped the sliders.

New sway bar in

Much better angles. Still need to pull the old mount.

20240802_150546.jpg

Pulled my roof rack, made mounts for the light bar on the windshield frame. Really liking the new look.
