Your a very talented fabricator DJ !

I'm ok lol. Not bad for my age, but there are a lot of guys that are way better than me.

Thanks! I'm trying. Planning on making a front here soon as well.

Been super busy, not a lot of time to work on stuff, but here's something a little off track.

I got this Columbian 504 1/2 vice for $80. It was nice enough that I decided to restore it and make it a squeezing only vice. No beating on this one.

It was somewhat dented and gouged, bit not too badly.

Pulled it apart. Lead screw is in pretty good shape, a few chips, but nothing major.

Disassembled.

Into the parts washer for a quick scrub.

Shined everything up.

I decided to fill the cuts and gouges and mill the faces again. Preheated to 400 in the powdercoating oven, and tig'd in some 99% nickel filler, peened, and let it cool with the oven.

Started sandblasting for final prep.

Got everything sandblasted and then took it to paint. I wanted something bright, and I liked this seafoam / teal.

Brought it in to fully cure and will assemble at a later date, and then mill some of the surfaces back true.

Came fully tooled, which was super nice. Picked it up for $2500.

Got the vice decked as well as a test.

This looks like a great start to your own custom shop!

It was one of those things that was too good to pass up. I'm planning on fully tooling my dad's shop at the house he just got cause I can. I'm excited!

Maybe we should take my Cruiser down there. 🙄

We could, not sure if it will fit in the garage, it has super short doors. Might be able to swap on rollers to get it on, though.

Been doing a ton of 3d printing for the latest shop project and it has reminded me of how much I miss designing and 3D modeling.

So I decided to make a replacement air intake cover for my dad's air compressor.

About an hour to dim it out and 12 to print it.

Anyways, if anyone wants some quick stuff modeled, I'd like to keep in practice lol.

I also forgot, I picked up this feller over the weekend. Needs a VFD and oil pump, but it's in super nice shape.
