Frame galvanized. Now I gotta re-tap holes and paint it.

Looks like a fun build to watch—I converted my 67 FJ40 from a V8 to an 1985 2F 4 speed from a FJ60. Really like way it performs. I applaud your plan to keep it original — good luck!
When i first got it I planned on adding AC, power steering and disc brakes and upgrading to a 4 speed. The more I drove it though I liked its roughness and the desire to keep it as original as possible took over.

One year later and I finally painted my frame.... Kind of. I didn't order enough paint and I'm headed out of town for a couple weeks. So now I get to look forward to wet sanding the whole thing when I get back to do my second coat.

Since there is discussion on how to paint a galvanized frame here is how I did it. Time will tell if it's the right way.

I used krud kutter cleaner/degreaser first and let it dry. Then used klean strip concrete and metal prep. Let that sit for two hours then washed it off. The next day used Eastwood 2k primer. Let that sit for about two hours then used Eastwood 2k chassis gloss black. I had four cans. Wasn't enough though so will be wet sanding and doing second coat later on.

Here is the reason it's taken a year to do anything. Instead of spending my money on the restoration I bought this. 😬
