Nice.
I have a question.
I would like to update my rear axle to fj60 full float. I have 4:88’s and ARB in my 40 semi float. I know or think my 3rd member will fit in the 60 axle. Will my present ARB LOCKER work as well?
Thanks.

It should, but I'm not sure if the spline counts are different.

Also the are a few after market kit to convert my 49 axle to FF.

A 60 axle will probably give a better result.

Slapped some paint on my overhead console. The cold makes everything slow, so the inside will get a coat tomorrow.

I've been working on a shifter plate with Lou @shipmag . He is a great guy and has a ton of different shift plates. If you need one, he has basically all patterns available. Doubler, twinstick, and just about any transmission, he has a plate.

Here are the designs we came up with for my application.

And the 4 speed version, just in case.

Anyways, give Lou a holler if you want some new bling.

I got all the electronics installed into the overhead console and got it mounted up. I'm liking it so far, and it does not obstruct any views past the cage.

The top is pretty much flush with the top of the cage, and I will eventually be making an enclosure for it so I can run a bikini top. I just need to get all my wires run first.

The hose clamps and mounts that I made keep this really tight to the cage, there is no movement or flexing really possible, so it shouldn't make much noise at all.

Everything fit pretty well, and the switches are located pretty well. Easy reach for the driver, but out of the way.

My fused relay box showed up as well, so I can get all my relays located and fused in a really small area. This thing is insanley compact for 8 relays and 12 fuses. Its about 5"×5".

I stuck the hardtop sides on to get the top off the cage, and the sides out of the way.

I suggest making a bulkhead connector so that you can disconnect that overhead system from the truck, in case you ever have to pull the cage.

Nice work.

That's the plan. I got a weatherpack connector kit, so I should be able to make a bunch of connections.

I got the traction bar reattached today.

Squared up.

Parallel with the leaf springs.

I made sure the upper bar was nice and level. That was the big problem I had with the last mount.

I also turned the axle housing to get the pinion pointed at the tcase output.

And finally, tacked the diff armor on.

I then started working on the frameside mount for the traction bar.

Ugly, but I'll clean it up once I get the crossmember out for paint.

Gusseted. I'll add a top gusset once I can get my hands and the gun in there.

I then started working on the skid plate. 3/16 plate with a square tube frame. Should be strong enough.

Driveshaft in.

The forward most passenger side mounting point is going to be a pain, as it currently wants to share the same space as the driveshaft. I'll figure that out tomorrow.

A small update. I had a bunch of schoolwork to catch up on today, so I didn't get a ton done.

Some side armor added.

20210205_161818.jpg

And the front mount done.

I still need to gusset everything and fully weld, and then finish the other half of the skid for the tcase.

You do those welds upside down? Looking good

Yep. I'm afraid that was all going to warp cause it was somewhat thin. It seemed to work. Not the prettiest, but i'm hoping they are strong.
