I was jealous of your suspension before you even got out of the driveway.

It's the nicest driving 40 that I've been in, and that is saying a lot with all the customer builds.

Thanks. I'll have to compare that to some of the other trans options.

I guess I messed up my wording there. Its 38" from tcase flange to bellhousing. Not the output flange of the trans.

Intake redo time. Too much turbulent flow over the mafs was pulling timing by almost 26 degrees and causing a super choppy idle. Yikes.

So, let's fix that. The ATS-V intake is strange, with the mafs super close to the filter. I'm going to try and replicate that with this modification of the intake and filter housing.

Intake out

A few minor modificatons lol.

Still a tight fit, but hopefully it should work.

I'm going to a 3" intake tube as far as possible on both sides, then 2.5" the rest of the way to hopefully cure the limited airflow.

I finally decided to buy my own toob blender lol.

Best bender I've run for ease of use and repicablility. I got a full die set for 1" - 2".

I'm excited!

Intake back together.

I'm out of practice with aluminum lol. Not my best.

Stubbly little passengers side.

King blue this time instead of anodized blue. Much happier with it.

Intake is working much better. No more turbulent flow for the mafs. They are reading low, though, so I'm most likley going to need to tune this thing for proper fuel and air.

Now moving onto new tube fenders.

I know you just spent a ton of time and effort on the new setup, but is there any way to use a larger filter? That current filter looks like a pretty big restriction for the kind of power that engine puts out, and I'd have to imagine that's (at least) a contributor to your issues... What about a separate air box and filter for each turbo/engine bank like lots of OEM TTV6 vehicles use (like the LX600/22+Tundra)?

It may help? The readings are about the same with or without the filter, so it would be at higher RPMs that would do it. This may get v3 of it seems like there is a lack of airflow once running fully.

In the process of retube fendering lol. Pita.

Doubles suck.

We've mounted a lot of tube fenders this way. I'm not thrilled about the frame to body connection, but we havent really had too many problems with stuff moving.

So i made a pair of mounts.

Bucket to the rescue.

Going for a stock boldy line with the overbite, plus I need the extra clearance.

Five gallon bucket as a unit of measure is the most imperial thing I've seen yet. 😆

Lmao it fits and holds up the tube pretty well

More fender stuff.

Folded up a bracket to mount to the frame.

I'm digging the look.

Plased out some fender skins.

Other side.

Figured I should check clearances before I get too far. It stuffs, barely. Turns may rub a bit.

My rear bent sway bar link is stopping full uptravel, but I'll get that sorted. Still pretty good, though.

Found this one little issue, but I'm changing bumps anyways, so it will get sorted. It can just be pushed out with a little force if there is some weight taken off. On the trail will be a bit harder, so something will change.

That is plenty of travel for a full body Land cruiser

Looks like it’s ready for Carnage canyon next month? 😁
