That is plenty of travel for a full body Land cruiser

Looks like it’s ready for Carnage canyon next month? 😁

I'm good lol. Been on that trail with some buggi bois and it's rough.

I'm really bad at updating this thread.

I bum rushed the fenders though paint for SAS. They turned out pretty nice for how little time I put into them.

A few SAS photos. The intake noises this thing makes on the road and on the trail is pretty fun. I'll try to get some videos together. Starts making wastegate noise around 1500 rpm lol.

I let @fjdiesel and @sogncab take it for a spin, so that was fun. It was great to see those guys as well.

Thank you DJ for letting us check it out and take it for a test drive! You have done an awesome build! It was great meeting you in person and chatting with you.

I've had a slight issue with driveline noise on deceleration, and I've finally accepted that I need to change out my rear end. I'm thinking of going with a Diamond FJ Cruiser 9.5" rear end, pulling my built diff out of my 80 rear, and dumping it into the new housing.

Not a cheap swap, but I can't take this thing over 70 with the amount of vibration that starts, and I cant stand the decel noise because I know its there. Its 100% driveline angle and mostly due to the centered output atlas and offset 80 rear.

Soooo if anyone wants to buy a 97 ff built rear axle, I can slap an unlocked diff in. Fully trussed with link and coilover mounts.

Also, if anyone is getting rid of a rear FJ Cruiser rear end, I could use some parts.

What about just having FROR make you a centered FZJ80 rear housing? They have been making new spindles. That way all your brakes, hubs, etc would be the same

I would assume cost would be similar and you would get to keep the FF.

Why would you want a FJ rear you will have to cut everything off. Just have Brian make you a FF rear Housing like i have Use your diff and run Mini truck spindles and Front Range wheel hubs

Looking at getting a bare housing, so blank canvas.

My main thing is not having to run custom axle shafts, I really dont want to deal with that. The rear is .5" wider overall. I don't want to go any wider if possible, I would honestly rather have my front wider than the rear.

If axle shafts are cheapish and readily available i would be happy to run a centered 80 rear. Haven't done enough searching to figure it all out, just starting to formulate solutions to problems lol.

My rear RCV shafts were 950 if i remember correct. Front Range cuts them to length . I highly recommend going with a FF rear. i can change a Axle shaft in probably 5 min . I had to tow a dead 80 out of the Rubicon and put the axles to the test . and i am on 40s

Good to know, 950 isnt bad for shafts at all. I would like to keep FF for sure. Do you know how much your housing was?

I did custom shafts on my 60 FF as well through RCV. Very happy with them.

No. I think they can operate up to their maximum flex since they are constant velocity joints. But you would have to research it. How long is your driveshaft?

Would have to measure again lol. Makes sense on the angles.
