Check the date stamp on those tires... Goodyear hasn't made that MTR pattern in several years. They're likely aged far past their use-by date. Sweet truck. Y'all enjoy it.

Unfortunately Matt, this is not a new phenomenon. Far from it. Toyota Trails ran a tech article from a vendor THIRTY YEARS AGO which promoted an unsafe steering hack (not my one-penny trick, which I do not consider unsafe) I submitted an...

Car dealerships don't stash away oddball old parts. It's not 1950. My point was a lot of people complain about websites not offering correct or any parts information when there are many Cruiser venders that would be HAPPY to help them for...

I would love to see Landcrusier shop that could keep a top tier tech feed with work to make flat rate work. Just the nature of what we do and what we work on makes that damn near impossible. I'm big into TPS , scrum and lean manufacturing ...

Just installed my @FJ40Jim recurved distributor. I knew it was going to run better, but wow, the acceleration is so smooth through all the gears and rpm range.

I keep the splines wrapped with a latex glove with a few oz oil. Wrapped with electrical tape. Electrical tape on the seal surface as well. I actually have never broken a rear shaft so I may quit carrying them. Of course I will probably break...

George at Valley Hybrids/Cruiser Brothers just added OD gearing to my HF2A on a 5spd 3lock 1HDT. Truck blows a lil black smoke on occasion now, and crawling down obstacles feels quicker. Lower rpms cruising. Last tank was 20.0 mpg w 33s...

He named his starting wage and yes it was in that range. He is above it now, I give good raises depending on performance. Cheers

There are many venders that support this site and sponsor TLCA events that you might enjoy that would be glad to help you with parts. Have you considered using one of them?

no one makes the simple industrial welders anymore. They've all gone to invertors with a lot of Chinese components. Anything industrial is 5000.00 and over. The last Migmaster I bought was in '08. It was 1700.00 delivered new. Welder...

migmaster 250. Best welder in it's class ever. I have 4. the oldest is still running from 1991. 1000s of lbs of wire since. They were green back then and called L-TEC.

That's awesome. I got this one two years ago at a local liquidation for $250 since it "didn't work". Ground bolt was just loose inside the cover. I need to put a new liner in it but otherwise been a beast.

Next trip coming up is GSMTR in June. I really wanted to pull my engine and fix my motor mounts, replaced the bad 3rd gear syncro in my NV4500, upgrade bellhousing and clutch slave to the internal style, fix my exhaust etc but have not had the...

Leave the stock 4.11’s in the axles and put 10% OD gears in the T-case when it gets rebuilt on the H55f. Essentially this is like having 3.70’s.

You should stick with the split case. It will make the swap a lot more straight forwards with your timeline since everything will stay effectively the same in that area.
