I’m sure it’s not customary to show off customer rigs.

But I am sure I am not the only one who would like to see more pics of that red LSA 40.

Lol, I try not to post customer stuff a lot. Mostly stuff I think is super neat or I think other people would like to see that usually gets glossed over in videos and stuff.

Awesome work. I'd love to have some of the tools you have to work with. AND the space for those tools and vehicles. You have some serious talent and a definite knack for finding deals. I'll just keep living vicariously through yous guys on Mud.

I'm hoping to be getting out of this industry pretty soon. Planning on building a shop for my dad and I to fart around in, but needing to find a job that isn't my hobby now. It's slowly driving me crazy lol.

You could try daytime bank robbing but I think they have all been robbed from the inside. John Dillinger would be shopping elsewhere because the money isn't there any more.

I've really loved this job so far. Been here for about 3.5 years, started my sophomore year of college working summers. My problem is now that I am wanting to use my degree and move onto something that doesn't kill my knees and screw with my body in funny ways.

I hear what you’re saying!
But just about any job is going to drive you crazy 😜 ask me how I know!

All I can say is you’re very talented and I hope you find a job that makes you happy.
If you love what you do its not so much of a job.

That's my big dilemma now. I'm burning out working on my stuff. I don't mind customer stuff during the week, but I have to force myself to work on my own projects on the weekends and it is becoming more of a chore than fun now, and that isn't super great for me, cause I'd rather be working on my own stuff. I'd rather have work that I can leave behind on my days off and have the want to focus on my own projects.

I understand. I didn't really want to work for big oil, big nuke ... so I tried to be an environmental guy. It turns out they are just as bad as the rest. Two kinds of environmental regulators 1) no nothing, 2) we don't care what you do just pay us money for a permit.

On the other hand skills and knowledge are the lightest things to pack on your back when the Schiff/Schumer hits the fan.

Oh, that wire is a score!

Well I know I'll never need to buy harness wire again. I have a few more projects I want to get done in the next few years and it will be used, just like all the tooling I'm collecting.

Now all you need is a car trailer and maybe some miscellaneous metal materials in sheet and tube form.

Mayhaps. That would quite possibly be useful.

Sort of a paint and body day. Had one of the shop's painters help me with the flares to get them done. Took about 4 hours between the two of us to get the mud work done and through primer and paint.

They came out great and were pretty dang straight to start with.

I got the wheel wells trimmed as well.

And then started working on the new rear axle while waiting for the paint. Will get the flares installed tomorrow.

Setting the pinion at 72° from horizontal, as that is what the current axle is sitting at.

Blasted the spindles and got them pressed into the housing.

More axle work tomorrow!

I also got a new sticker for my weld peeping device.

Looks like you are using 80 rear axle spindles turned down and pressed into the RS tube? I am planning on building a RS 9.5 as well, they used to sell flanges to use 80 front spindles but stopped making. Front range sells the diamond version. But not clear what calipers they use and probably don't have a parking brake provision. Kinda like how you are doing it. What are you doing for shafts? Able to get custom length with the 80 end flange or does the front drive flange work on the rear hub with regular splined shafts?

Yep, 80 rears. You can get 80 fronts on RuffStuff, haven't seen any ff80 rear replicas for the rear besides the FROR. I have a few contacs for 80 shafts, they will probably be around 1K.

Yeah I did see they released their 80 knuckle balls, I will be using those as well for the front. But the rear option they used to have used front spindles and hubs and replaced the brass spindle bushing with a seal and holder. Shafts likely cheaper that way but again, I don't think it has a parking brake provision. Excited to see how yours turns out.
