So when my boy and I were getting new tires and the bench seat we visited a favorite place of mine in Sharjah, Al Ahrar used parts.
WOW..... What a place to shop for parts....
That's a Landcruiser owner's dream....

Black hoods are a great look. I did a matte black wrap on my Troopy’s hood and it really cut down on the glare. Bonus points.
I am wondering what brand of vinyl did you use and did you do it yourself?
Holy sheeeeit.
Now that’s the scrapyard I want near me.
Dayum.
Just my $.02, but my business is graphics, and we wrap cars here at the shop. I'd say use 3M and have a pro do it.
I am thinking of doing this because I am getting some serious glare from the white hood of my PZJ70 during my daily drive into work in the mornings. It just happens to be that most of my drive is in the direction & time where the glare can be unbearable at times.
I have never looked into a vinyl wrap so I am wondering what brand of vinyl did you use and did you do it yourself?
Hi Honger, thanks for this very interesting thread.
You mentioned Al Ahrar used parts. I can't seem to find that on Google Maps. Would you mind sending a map link?
I've got four places in Sharjah I go--all found by word of mouth. There seems to be no real directory of car part places. Here's what I've got:
Two places next to each other; both yards have lot of 70 series items. The one to the South has more 100 series; the one to the North --dismantles Australian 80's pretty regularly.25°18'10.4"N 55°23'30.6"E · Industrial Area 8 - Sharjah - United Arab Emirates

Al Neeq Used Cars and Spare Parts. Really just a dismantler. Mostly 100 series25°18'10.4"N 55°23'30.6"E · Industrial Area 8 - Sharjah - United Arab Emirates

This one dismantles Model 100's almost exclusively. Two brothers operate it out of two shops. The small, hole in the wall shop is here: 25°18'14.1"N 55°23'42.9"E25°18'59.3"N 55°25'18.5"E · 8C8C+HQC - Industrial AreaIndustrial - Industrial Area 6 - Sharjah - United Arab Emirates

I'm always interested in finding a new cruiser scrap yard, so your post about Al Ahrar was of great interest.
Best,
John
