Although my wife would disagree being a Horder pays off from time to time. Dug through my stash of good parts to keep just in case I might need them one day and found some heavy swivel feet, drilling and tapping 5/8" holes on this heavy chunk of steel kind of sucked but it's done and now on to the fun stuff.

Machined a fitting for the base of the vise and started welding some of the scrap steel together.

Best day of shelter in place ever!

Nice work!!!

Well, since you're stymied with the table project, here's something else to consider. Stay with us when you pick it up. Drive it home. If nothing else, that front bumper might make a decent table.

That thing is Boss!

I think I understand now & need to tack on my rear hangers and put some weight on springs before I can decide where I’m going on the front.
Yes or you'll need to measure and apply maths.

Hey J Mack,

Do you think your buddy with the Willys would need these. A horn button and a grille emblem, not sure of the years anymore. I saved them from the last one we junked years ago. He can have them if needed.

Hey J Mack,

Do you think your buddy with the Willys would need these.
Thank you Ron, I sent him a text and he said yes please.
I think you need to make him create an account and post a picture of his Willy's before you offer to send him anything.

Hello, Jim sent me your generous offer. I would love to use them. Let me know how to pay shipping or get from Jim. Thank you Gene

Hard to remember anymore, but looks like it's from the mid 50s. Send me your address or have J Mack send it and I'll get them going. We had a ton of parts and manuals because my uncle sold jeeps in the fifties and sixties. Looks to be a good strong body, what's your plans for it.

What's the Case for šŸ¤”šŸ˜³

Bob,

I’m building a LiFePO4 battery to give me extra power in the target carrier for things like an ARB refrigerator or our heater for extended times. This is what’s in the case.

This is the case.

I don't want to hijack Jim's thread. His ideas and fabrication blow my stuff away (as shown by the Sinatra overflow bracket Jim made me). It's a 1954 Willy's wagon on a 1987 Toyota 4x4 pickup frame. I'm running a 350 sbc, SM465 tranny and 205 transfer case. It was a stripped body and broken frame when I got it. in June of 2018. Pretty much everything new or rebuilt. Jim and I spent 2 weeks completely wiring, plumbing(fuel tank/lines and brakes lines), custom mounting front bumper and can't remember all

else. It would have took me 6 months without his help. True 40 year friend

Well test #1 of the new battery charge off my current setup failed miserably.

The first issue is I’m getting a voltage drop at my power port when pulling the 20 AMPS. I ran 10 gauge wiring, I took a guess that I was under ten feet and that should have been good for 3% or better voltage drop @30 AMPS but I’m getting a 36% voltage drop @20 AMPS so I’m going to need to dig in and get that figured out before I try again

Second issue the ā€œPowerwerx CigBuddy, the portable cigarette lighter plug to Powerpole adapterā€ I bought says it has a 20AMP rating and I set up to charge at a 20AMP max and float charge at 10AMPS so in theory this should have worked fine but in reality it failed miserably. I’m sure my voltage drop didn’t help but the CigBuddy melted internally before it blew its 20AMP fuse. After tearing it apart it was obvious why this happened and the engineer I talked to at Powerwerx agreed they most likely overrated their adaptor and apologized but this isn’t going to help me with my immediate need for a cigarette lighter adaptor that will actually handle continuous 20AMPS.
