When I was just a baby,
My mama told me, “Son
Always drive Toyota
And please, son,
drive nice ones”,
So I revved the Mosley 2F,
And then side-stepped the clutch,
Then the friction disc exploded,
I’m stranded, Pretty much.
When I was just an old man
My inner child said, “son”
Don’t ever let a Rover
Or a Chevota get past you son
I shot a block to Mosley
And three years now have gone
Now that big 2F
Is gonna turn me on
“I hear that 2F a-comin’,
It’s comin’ ‘round the bend,
It ain’t had the valves adjusted since I don’t know when,
Driver’s dropped it into third, foot mashed to the floor,
Eyes watering from exhaust fumes, bound for Pig Party 2024….”
Nice. I remember walking down to the Lighthouse a time or two but not sure if I ever went to the actual beach. Certain there wasn't anything quite that memorable.
Nice trip Nolen. Father was in the Air Force. Still remember going through a C5 with him when I was about 12. Unbelievable aircraft. Also, coincidentally, spent a year working in SF and living in Sausalito very early in my career. Great area...
Just got back from a great trip to NorCal with my wife, son and his GF.
Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Black Beach, Sonoma and Travis AFB air show. Nephew is a C5 pilot there.
I haven't got dad back into the FJ55 for another try for that cheeseburger. One of the main reasons for getting this back on the road was to share it with dad while I still can. Anywho, that's neither here nor there. I've been driving it more...
The seal housing arrived from Front Range, so these pictures are more for me to remember what I did. Most of you guys aren't going to go through all this baloney for a full float rear axle. Here's the spindle with the brass bushing we all know...
You all are welcome in Southern Illinois too. The Shawnee NF and Crab Orchard NWR are here. So is Voodoo Cruisers 😁. We road trip long distances in our pig but use a small trailer. It makes a big difference with useable interior space. Good luck...
this i can hope for. the passenger inner handle was ripped off, when I put one on there the mechanism was frozen solid. couple blasts of carb cleaner and now its perfect so I hope i continue to be that lucky with the door latches lol
@Old Nick just sent me a message with these comments....
Howdy,
Hoping that this will be of assistance.
I missed out on the group-buy and ended up ordering an entire seal kit from Rubber Seals. They sent out replacement door seals (front and...
Wow; very nice so far. You're really moving along on this pig. Keep me in mind if you ever decide to go with new seals. Great to see that you're able to use them.
Drivetrain pulled. Ran the AC before disassembly. Blows nice and cold.
Radiator in good shape, condenser might need replaced. DS motor mount was separated.
Rear pinion seal is leaking, but it’s getting new thirds with ARB lockers anyway.
No...
Well here it is. I started spraying off some of the engine bay. I replaced the right rear door, fixed the inner handle on the passenger front door, fixed the hood latch, unstuck the ignition, cleaned the carb, fixed literally ALL of the wiring...
