You'll have to go inside the door and take it all out in order to check what's going on. There's a lot of moving parts in there, but nothing too hard to figure out.
“I hear that 2F a-comin’,
It’s comin’ ‘round the bend,
It ain’t had the valves adjusted since I don’t know when,
Driver’s dropped it into third, foot mashed to the floor,
Eyes watering from exhaust fumes, bound for Pig Party 2024….”
The seal housing arrived from Front Range, so these pictures are more for me to remember what I did. Most of you guys aren't going to go through all this baloney for a full float rear axle. Here's the spindle with the brass bushing we all know...
You may get more traction on answers to your questions by checking with the pig sty. Look for the FJ55 Iron Pig Preservation Society at the bottom of the forum menu.

this i can hope for. the passenger inner handle was ripped off, when I put one on there the mechanism was frozen solid. couple blasts of carb cleaner and now its perfect so I hope i continue to be that lucky with the door latches lol
I'm betting the mechanism (little arms) in there that control the star wheel are gummed up and just need a good cleaning. It's not a fun job, but can be done in the driveway with hand tools. It would be a good idea to do all the doors.

Just burned up a bunch of wires under the hood. :(
Electric guy needs to come back.
Lots of little things
Wins and losses that are soon gonna be wins. The roller coaster goes on. I can’t get off now!
Not sure what 'good shape' means to you. It's kinda like 'rusty'. I figure I'll bring my impact into that part of my woods and unscrew them. I do understand that forums have rules about the regular forum topics and the want ads. I think we should...
