Great news, Ford Explorer brakes pass the fit test.

Winter is setting in and I think I am finally going to have some time to wrench on the pig. The whole axle debacle really set me back and now I have been going back through what I need to do with it. I spent a bunch of time and resources on other planned and unplanned stuff, boats, campers, hunting etc. It’s all good, but projects sometimes have to take the back burner as I can’t keep up. The worst part is the poor truck has been stranded in the middle of the shop on jack stands ever since I took the axles out :(

Nice looking shop. Enjoyed the build this far, keep chipping away at it.

That is a great space!

Burned some time removing some parts like the overflow can and the old electric fan tonight. I also got a good look at the passenger steering arm while under the front, somebody spent some time on it.

Finally bit the bullet and ordered an axle shaft, brake kit, and some other pieces for the rear end. I have some anxiety as there are some unknowns, hopefully I ordered the right stuff and everything fits. I also started work on the master/booster replacement and what I will need to do for brake lines, pretty sure I need a proportioning valve too. Once I can roll it on the ground again I need to buy a pressure washer and go nuts as there is a layer dirt on every surface imaginable.

I would try as-is without a proportioning valve first. Can't belive it's been six months since I sent you those parts!

Yeah me neither, I can never seem to get anything accomplished as I am constantly putting out household fires first. Prime example, the alternator just s*** on the Sequoia. The good news is the first box of parts showed up, that Yukon cover is a serious chunk of steel.

I will try it without the valve, that would be great it worked out. Thanks again for those parts!

FYI I also sell Wilwood products if you do end needing one. :)

Rent a Hotsie at the local machine rental. It is a miracle worker.

That is a great idea, I have used one to clean boat hulls in the past but they are super expensive. I have a couple rental places nearby I will check with. The rest of the rear end parts should be in Tuesday!
