Alert the media. The first successful reconnection of 3 on the tree linkage had happened at Tilda Bogue. Cowboy is thrilled

I'm dealing with a warped exhaust manifold situation right now too and some Mud research suggests loosening bolts between intake and exhaust manifolds, and all the nuts to the head studs to get everything started, then tighten them up. Yours...

Absolutely right!! Good ‘Ol Uncle Joe gave me the Land Cruiser bug when I was about 4-5 years old when he used to take me place in his new FJ55…..later in life he liked to restore vintage lathes…..I asked him to take on the PTO that I purchased...

I guarantee that anyone who has actually spent time in the garage, or paid a professional shop to have an old cruiser restored, knows that your asking price is very fair and quite frankly a bit low IMHO. Thanks for building a machine that...

Cruiser Corps. I shoved Rosie out to work on the OddBall and just got the rear spacers in when I got a knock on the door and the metal building guys are here. I got that big college center to push it back inside so they can get busy

Well, in about late 2006/early 2007, it all started with a leaking head gasket......original engine had around 50-60K miles on it judging from the broken odometer and original TRE's and u-joints......After removal of the head, I noticed a hole in...

She's back on the road! The wiring is done for the most part. I still have to put some split loom on it and clean up some areas. The vintage air heater is in, but I need to get over to Home Depot and get a pair of hose adapters for the...

This rear brake line isn’t going to cut it…. This is with about 300 pounds worth of tires in the back. Luckily, I already ordered a longer one and got it installed. Tires should get installed next week; 33x9.5 Kenda Klever RT’s. Then I need...

A couple hours later and it’s looking much better! Just measured for shocks and ordered some bilsteins. Sits a touch high in the rear but I plan on a tire carrier so not worried at the moment. Now off to find some 33” Kenda Klever RT’s

Wasn't an aisan, gmb, toyota, etc. And they didn't have 5 when I purchased. My data point is just my personal experience with the unit I got from rock auto. Anyway, like mentioned for the original poster, you have plenty of options for good...

I had a rock auto waterpump on mine previous to this one and it wasn't the same and it failed. Maybe they have changed?

I was surprised at the fitment of my 68-69 as well. The straps fit well, but that rear seam, even on the factory original was obviously massaged.

Finally the fuel line. Here's how it all goes together. Slide that collar all the way up, then squeeze it together until the collar and the back "compression nut" clear the nipple. And that's a wrap.

One of the stated goals in putting this old rig back on the road is to learn more about the FJ40 and to improve my mechanic skills. I dreaded restabbing this tranny so put it off for a week. Tonight, in less than one hour, I got it back in...

Could be warped, which makes it harder to remove, so check them with a straight edge and maybe get them machined before re installing with a new gasket.

Bummer about Stockton! City racer wheels or 70 series steel wheels will work for your 40 as well.

That one sold in Las Vegas not too long ago, so he hasn't had it long. Cool he fixed some of the rust and kept those original old school graphics. Really cool 40. 😎

I bet yours is repairable. Hard to improve on the original.. This one from my 69 was totally corroded and frozen. Took it apart and cleaned/lubed it

Looks like they cut the dash, firewall and inner fenders out of the Stout body. Pretty invasive swap and it would take a ton of work to get it going.

I took LPBlue for a 20 mile ride. It was great. The top being on makes it a different animal. I need to tape up the seatbelts and tool rods. Any noise inside the cabin is so loud. I’m excited about Mr Grant picking this thing up next week. I...
