Rear axle is “in” with the spring hangers/shackles all torqued. I found the lower plates that need cleaning and straightening so not tightening U bolts just yet, realized I will need to re-drill the centre hole to match the offset axle pads.
Did also find the front 55 plates ones that appear will work with the 62 front housing? (Hopefully)

FYI, not a fan of NiCoP. Its too soft. If on the axle, any your running throught brush, it will snag/kink much easier than PVC coated steel or steel lines.

Thanks for dropping in, appreciate the input 👍🏻🙂

I’ll have to review line placement.

Some more dry paint, some more assembly.

Someone had said after the shock tower is on the PS box will just go where it fits…now I understand better.

With the motor mount to clear the box has to mount ahead of the rear vertical, no other choice.

Not 💯 on the location, but it’ll be close to here, lots of tight fit happening. Not sure why but I sure hate cutting vintage sheet metal 🤷🏼‍♂️

Might chain it down and cycle the axle up to see how close the U bolt gets to the pitman :hmm:

@RUSH55 how thick did you plate the outter frame here?

In your pics it looks like the box is standing off a bit more than your fish plate?

I know it sucks to pull the leaf pack apart but....
You'll learn a lot about your front suspension if you do, just run the main leaf then cycle both sides to the bump stops before you weld everything in solid.
I got a hunch you'll make some changes.

Not that much suck, and yes it was much needed, thanks for beating that drum Jim. 👍🏻

So tonight I broke the from suspension down and reassembled it. Then chained the frame down and cycled to the bump stop on drivers side, the PS box wants to be quite far forward to clear everything at full articulation.
So far that I wonder if other builds I’ve been using as reference actually clear. @J Mack keeps telling us not to believe everything we see on the internet, he ain’t lying.

Also noted the flex line bracket needs some tweaking on the pumpkin to be happy at full droop over there.

do you have a straight arm or are you going to try to bend this one?

That’s the only pitman I have, came off the 62.

I had to take some of the bend out of mine in the press.

Hard to get my phone in there to get a good angle but yeah like pighead it's pretty straight now compared to before.

The issue is when your wheel is turned to the left, drivers side at full bump, passenger side at full drop. The drag link and pitman arm/ball joint all want to occupy the same space.
