That is the proportioning valve. It proportions how much braking force is applied front vs. rear.
Residual valves keep some residual pressure in the brake lines so that your shoes (or pads) don't move too far away from the drum (or disc)...
Do you have a residual valve in the rear brake line?
If you expand the shoes all the way out, stopping the rear wheels from turning, does the pedal still go to the floor?
There is only one passage, but it needs an in and out hole in the bushing. I don't know why there would be 3 holes in a bushing, but if 2 of them open into the oil passage it should work.
OK, decided to do the right thing and replace the rockers. Called the metal mart, gasped when i heard the price, placed the order and dropped the other old slider.
Saw some old body damage i hadn't seen in 30 years, the first dent i ever put in...
I am partial to the 2x4 tube. The only issue is you have to address the moisture that will drop from the B pillar, and if you have rust on the outside you probably have it on the back wall too. Mine was rusted where the floor supports turned 90...

What existing bolt holes in the sheetmetal are ovaled, but add flexibility.
So, the quandry: do i do the right thing...
It's not such an old thread and the title fits. And it saves somebody the trouble of linking to this thread if i started a new one.
I'm in a quandry with my sliders.
WAY back in the day, when I first started wheeling my Pig i got beat up pretty...
1) I've had good luck getting OEM parts from my Friendly Local Auto Parts Store (FLAPS). Got a new Toyota boxed fuel pump from orielys last year.
B) the "reproduction" fuel pump for 60 bucks is usually just an in-line electric pump.
III) there...
I did that measuring thing, with a borrowed tool, just once. Twice if you count both ends of the same axle, just recently. I forgets the numbers and threw away the paper, but I got shims both upper and lower. you only get shims on top? Does not...
