Shop time this afternoon, trimmed and mounted the 3fe PS bracket and looked at how the Saginaw pump will fit it.

I think I need the new pump and the correct wide pulley before this can get any closer to together.

What pump are you guys running that won’t blow the seals on steering box, I’ve read the Toyota system is much lower pressure than the Sag pump will supply?

Also if anyone has a wide pulley source?

Cheers

March steering pump, any good? I need to call my FLAPS and see what Rich can get me.

Pulley wise I only found the one source?

What about a PSC pump? They are not too much more money.

Pulley from @orangefj45 is now waiting for me South of the border
This, make a point to order from “in stock” source and the acknowledgement email says shipping Aug 28, wtf 🤬
And the ship date on the pump just moved up to first week of Aug, so some parts gathering progress at least while I am doing yard projects and summer holidays etc.

Pump arrived today, early and in good shape.

I emailed the mail service in Blaine stating the package had my last name misspelled and after lunch I got the reply it was there, so a nice win on our BC Day Holiday up here.

You're pulling things together so nicely. Very cool to see this.

Been gathering supplies, a very short bit of progress today.

Happy New Years Sty

Started on the Alternator offset adapter, not much to show yet.

Happy afternoon progress on first day of the year 🎉

Disassembled the new water pump, sealed it and installed, hopefully blue lock tight on the bolts is enough seal

Need to do a lathe visit at dad’s shop and then the Alt adapter will be a thing.

Another shop day, happy with today’s welds, apparently I’m old and needed to wear the “readers” I now have in the shop, seeing what your welding helps :slap:

Splash of “cast iron” paint and on to next step

Quick tuneup on the inner fender and frame rail so I can bolt the alternator in and move on to the fan adapter.

I’m sure there was an easier path for this but I’m just working with what I have, besides it’s another excuse to go play on the lathe at dad’s.

I do wear glasses out and about, for distance, but have slowly been losing the up close focus as well. Mostly I’m good (except metal slivers) and get by without using readers, but noticed a few things I must hav them on for now.

So far my only pair live in the shop, I’m sure that too will come to pass.
