I personally wouldnt take it over eighty five with a v8 just cause its not the most stable high speed vehicle. I dont think the 2f wil rev that high to get to 85

This is not a NASCAR

but Ive had 135kph on the GPS from my 2F

75 and it can go higher, I just dont want to to push it.
81 FJ40, with 2F, 4 speed 3:73 and stock carb.

with 33's, 2 1/2 " lift I was testing carb jetting ( 1986 ) and exhaust on the uphill grade north of phoenix.
I pulled 117mph on a 6 percent grade. That was an old school 350 with a holley dp750 and a turbo 400.
In 1990 I swapped in a TBI 350 and managed a shade over 100 on the same grade. I doubt, considering aerodynamics, we'll see a 150 mph FJ40

cosfj40 above is on the money...the rest of you guys/gals are c r a z y !!!!!!!!!!!!

Not so, at least according to my GPS I hit 87 mph with the original 2F that has only had a valve job on the engine. Not bad for a 30 year old vehicle with 165,000 miles on the odometer. Normally, I don't go over 70-75 on the freeway.

yes it will ;p

my truck does 85, I've had it higher and it still had pedal to give :meh:

It's not a question of how fast you can go in a straight line, it's what will happen if you need to make an accident avoidance maneuver. I don't feel safe over 60 mph.

you can cruise at 85 MPH ....Toyota says so :)

I'm with Claudia. Mine does 85 easy with throttle to spare, but I have a 2FE with a H55F. I cruise at 75 anytime I'm on the freeway. I will say that 85 was a bit scary in a short wheel base, sprung over truck. I did it while passing a big rig and can guarantee I won't do it on a regular basis.

calculating a strong tail wind into the equation, with the slight hump coming out of my garage to driveway, id estimate 3 mph on a good day

80+. Speedometer isn't terribly accurate. It gets dicey at speeds over 75, though.
