What's wrong with your brakes? Have you done all four wheels recently?

I just did all mine, and my truck stops well.

Maybe you just need to fix what's there?

Nothing's broken, I just think the 1 inch bore MC will be a good final improvement

Finally got my jack mounted legitimately, with some 4xrac mounts and some window shutter brackets haha

I spent most of today desmogging my 3FE, check out Spook50's "Desmog Guide" of you haven't already, it's very helpful.








Next weekend's project, 1 inch bore brake master cylinder.

Got my new BMC in Sunday, improved the brakes a lot, they feel much firmer now.

I had to splice the plug from the original to the new wires

In case anyone was wondering what my wheel hub looks like, had to take the front wheels off, the TLC calipers are bled from the top


All nice and cleaned up

Does anyone think I need a knuckle rebuild yet?

Would love to know the steps to do the repaint on the mudflaps.

Also do you have a P/N on that master cylinder? I need to replace mine as well, also did the new MC come with the top cap and wiring or did you have to purchase ?

Just clean the rubber pretty well, then use the pen.

Knuckles look fine from here. A bit cakey but not spewing oil out.
Any oil on the tires?

Nope. They've just never been rebuilt with 260K on them.

You will know when they go. You will have drips on the tires and on the ground if they decide to go. Also, your knuckle would probably be so covered in grease and muck that you would not be able to see the nuts/bolts.

Usually I'm of the opinion if it ain't broken you can probably still fix it but in this instance I would say don't mess with it.
Wait until you have to do new rotors or bearings or something then have a look. As long as she's tracking true on the road and you're not getting crazy unusual tire wear its best left untouched.

Just discovered this awesome thread!

Looks like we got a trio of college kid cruisers (mine included). If you plan on doing a manual trans swap just go straight to an H55, it may cost more but you'll be thankful for the extra gear especially with florida being a driving state. Subscribed!!
