UPDATE TIME

Reorganized my rear storage, I'm now toting around a spare of all hoses and some extra vac lines, as well as fluids (oil, coolant, gear oil and brake fluid).

While I was in there I put in a second fire extinguisher, 5 pounds

And I finally found a good place for my shovel, I used quikfist clamps bolted to the rear hatch, nice and out of the way

I also found a bunch of new parts at my warehouse, an incomplete knuckle kit, a new O2 sensor and some engine gaskets, these will go on the new 3FE when I get to it

Because I'm a careful guy Im going to order a full knuckle kit and I will begin that job soon, I currently have what looks like gear oil dripping out of the steering knuckles.....

Got some mail!! Firstly, a knuckle kit from Georg at Valley Hybrids (Buy from him he is awesome!) : image-4137297731.webp Then, a new set of Aisins from eBay, I love these things:

Shiny, and more importantly not cracked to s***.

SITREP

Rebuilt the my front axle whilst Mud was down, was quite the messy job. I'll refrain from posting too many pictures because it just looks like any other front axle.

Upper trunion bearing:

Got the new Aisin's on, they look killer and I finally have my entire 4wd system functioning properly

I finally got to wheel a little bit too, minor stuff I'll admit

I'm not talking about the ice chest you goofball.

Do you not see my new tires right behind whoever's engine that is in the foreground?

;)

Noticed on your Aisan hubs that the 12mm nuts holding the hub on don't have caps. Were they like that when you took them off? Almost all the trucks I see (or part out) have an acorn style cap. Just curious

They're for ease of removal

I had some chrome acorn nuts on before, I replaced them with the nuts you see (stainless steel by the way) be cause I like to bring the nuts out the end of the stud and hammer on them so I don't damage threads, as per most peoples recommendation. The regular nuts give a better surface to hammer on (flat).

I use a brass drift, on the nuts

There isn't a Honda.... you might be seeing the BSA Thunderbolt or the Yamaha Daytona Special, the one in parts is a Norton Commando.

None are for sale or mine to sell, sorry.

Let me know when you are free, I found a cool wheeling spot in between both of our locations.

Spent a little time in the new motor, almost got it striped to the long block, just the oil stuff and that weird coolant reservoir.

Got it on a stand, much easier to move around and work on now
