Heads and oil pan are off, pulled the pistons, everything looks great, just greasy.

Just waiting on a socket to come in for the crank nut then I'll pull that and send it all to the machine shop.

I decided to do the whole thing in white. Anyone think it's a bad idea?

1983 pedal bucket. This will be fun.

Don't worry, I've got toyota pedal grips.

White will look decent but remember that it is going to be greasy and dirty before you know it. Wish I had the room and time to do what you are.

I'm going to have to pressure wash it ever couple of months for sure. But on the positive side, and my reason for white is that I'll be able to chase leaks really easily.

Old crusty pedal bucket + sand blast + some paint =

Halfway decent looking pedal bucket.

Blasted and Easy-offed the lower intake man as well, came out pretty nice:

Also Easy-offed and polished the fuel injection rail, ended up real shiny-like.

Decided I really need some mud tires soon, this is getting out of hand.

That's Florida for you though.

Found a spot to flex to, pretty good for close to stock on 31's.

Alright alright I fixed the exhaust bracket.... however the rear swaybar clamp is bent to hell, so that goes on the list of parts, along with window channel rubber and an antennae....

Also I should probably start getting engine parts.

You have a part number for the 1" bore MC?

I could use some better braking?

Are you happy with your brake performance after swapping the MC?

Yeah, but it only helps if all the rest of your brake system is all functioning properly.

I don't remember the part number, but it's in a thread started by user "Spike Strip", I think it's in the FAQ's.

Seriously. Having those wheels under in the muck destroyed my rear shoes, shame, they are practically new before. Luckily the drums were alright. Replaced the shoes with new NAPAs, brakes are 110% better now.

Broke a hub stud in the process too.

Also, got some small parts from Beno, sway bar bracket and some window channel runs. No more big rattles anymore!

Finally feels like it doesn't want to completely fall apart every time I drive it. And I really can't wait to get started on the engine/transmission swap, machine shop needs to hurry up!

So my rear diff started leaking out the cover, so I pulled, painted it blue and reinstalled it with new chrome nuts and a s***load of RTV, and not enough gear oil. It was leaking again six hours later. I ordered a new gasket from Beno, I'll get on that job in a few days.

So today I went and picked up some 16 x 7 Tacoma steelies with some halfway decent street tires, eventually I'll get those painted and wrapped in some KM2's, I can hardly wait.

At the time of the hurricane I was 9 years old. My dad repaired the cruiser,
popping the dents back out, new mirror, welding in a new bar to the roof rack, and replacing the puny fog lights (which got destroyed) with some bigger Hellas. Not much has changed on it mechanically since then, but it has been on many adventures. We are very into Boy Scouts:

The Land Cruiser makes a great parade vehicle...

...but it's much better at camping!

This was another rare occasion where the truck might have gotten overworked. Fully loaded with gear, towing seven canoes, and with five people inside might have been a bit much for the old 3FE. Luckily the only symptom was a temporarily rising temperature gauge! (Finally some tech)
You're putting together a great rig - thanks for posting the pics and notes!
