Progress... just needs welding out and finishing up.. i'm welding the back at the moment.. but will put a bead of weld on the front seam too so that it can be ground back slickly to soften that edge

Got it welded in but i didnt get a chance to finish cleaning it up.. my arms were about to fall off and I'm sure my neighbours wanted to see in the new year without the sound of my grinder going..

another thing off the list.. thats the last big rust repair i had to do... got a handful of little things next on the list now.

Got a heap of little welding jobs and loose ends out the way.. next up is checking the windscreen for fitment.. i had planned on removing the old seal from the cracked original windscreen i have here.. the only original frame is along the top and bottom.. sides and corners have been replaced.. with the bare glass look for even gap between glass and frame along top and bottom.. and make sure the gap is the same on all my replacement bits.

I have a replacement rubber here too.. i could dry fit it to the frame and look for any spots that dont look right...

While the frame is bare ill weld in any adjustments.. i had planned on havimg it painted before a new screen is installed for good.

Anyone else have any other suggestions on how to check?

salvaged the old windscreen seal and gave it a go.. only a few spots that need some more meat..

I always knew the lowers drivers side would need more work.

It's a loose fit here so maybe with a glass inside the screen it'll be a bit tighter fit..

I've got a fresh seal so I'll throw that on too and see what its like..

Windscreen frame done.. threw in the new seal but im hoping it doesnt reach the corners cos its fresh and has some stretch once the glass is in.. i didnt get a chance to try the old seal before having to come in for the night.. also the new windscreen seal is an ebay specail from thailand if that makes a difference at all..

i figure the firewall is a good place to learn spray painting 2pack for the first time. there wont be much block work needed here prior to the cyngus white and it will allow me to build and mount the drivetrain for the last time..

oh dang. Did they change the firewall stamping at some point? Mine does not look like that. And I am not talking about how his steering is on the wrong side.
