What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (99 Viewers)

Back in November when I met the Tornado Alley Cruisers, the first thing @2fpower told me when he saw my LC was to get rid of my OME Nitro shocks and buy the Fox 2.0s. . .so I listened. While wrenching with @chap79, I told him I was going to buy the Fox 2.0s and he advised me to buy shock boots for protection. . .so I did. I also told @chap79 that I just purchased 37s, and guess what?? He gave me 4” OME springs, and said to make sure to get front bumpstop extensions.

(If you dont want to buy $40-$50 extensions, @chap79 says you can buy hockey pucks. each puck is 1" (use two, 2") drill a hole in the center and youll have front bumpstop extensions.)

Continuing my degree in YouTube, I watched @OTRAMM shocks install video 100 times. Yesterday I used the auto crafts center on base to install the springs, shocks, and wheels. Thought it was going to be a few hr deal, ended up taking all day. Thankfully @Soju stopped by after work and lent a hand. We out everything together and I left the LC in the shop for the evening so I can come back in the morning and make sure everything was good. My whole body hurt that evening and this morning.

Hello there, Im 1 hour South West of Fresno.
PM me & we can get you set up on some nice local spots to do some chilaxin...
Thank you for your service to our great country.

Nice wheels, they look like stock steelies, but have a beadlock ring???
What are they & where did you get them? Part number if you have... What is the back spacing on them?

They are Method Wheels:

@ GW Nugget they
Where did you get that big brake kit or did you DIY it?
DIY, still need to update the link but want to get them bled and waiting on a few spacer and possible line length reduction parts. Super happy even with the soft pedal, hoping this bleeds out well. Have a T100 on hand for backup if necessary and will likely add on later regardless.

Looking awesome!!!

Was not expecting to be back in here after 12K miles.

It would appear that both the axle housing seal and the hub seal let go. Diff oil all over the parking brake and on the rotors.

Luckily i had a set of new seals and the gasket. Didn't have replacement pads or shoes so tried to clean them up best i could with some brake clean.
I'm guessing i must have compromised the seals when i did them last time. Was super careful this time.
Yikes! Now you got me all nervous. I just finished this a couple months ago...was hoping not to touch it again for a hot minute.

Time before i did it and it lasted 30k miles. This time though it was done with lockdown mentality which meant i started on step 6. By the time I was putting the axles back in my hand might not have been too steady..
This time i left step 6 to the end so i am hoping for better results.

Haha well, I omitted step 6 when I did mine so hopefully my axles will stay sealed!

Don’t often hear of folks going to 4.56 but if you’re sticking with 35’s I’m sure you’ll be happy. Lockers are game changers!
I’m actually hearing about more people with larger than 35” tires doing 4.56 gears in the diffs along with lower high range (and low range usually) in the transfer case. It’s a reasonable solution.

Step 6?? I rebuilt mine a couple of months ago so hopefully not going to have the same problem..
