I've seen many of these, they just scream "big American pickup" to me... could be GM, Ford... anything.

Definitely! YMMV In my case, I started hearing that sheit from the doctors two decades ago, the first time I threw my back out. Fortunately, when it comes to all things medical, I am more stubborn than the doctors are smart, and I live by the...

Finally getting back after it, had some dental issues to work through but am in a better spot now. First up, glamour pic of the head as returned from the machine shop. I almost feel bad putting this back on my crusty block. Almost. :) And for...

I prefer a V8 and have been running them since the 80's also. As others have said, you need to figure out what you want to do with it. There are a lot more driveline options these days. Initially, I'd see about rebuilding the sbc you have or...

I've got most of a 2F with clutch bellhousing, in northern NM, available for free. 4-speed driveshafts as well if you help me get this engine off my hands. Why not rebuild the SBC? How did the V-8 die? My aesthetic preference isn't V-8 or...

Take the negative terminal off; one pinch bolt to loosen.

Bumper and winch mounted. Waiting on a new hook for the cable, need to install the battery cables and a couple more bolts but it’s sturdy and not going to get scratched kicking around my shop! Looks like it belongs!

Anecdotally, last week I couldn't / didn't get oil from the local parts store, because, the manager apparently just keeps the oil recycling container full and his customers to recycle oil at Jiffy Lube. All they have to do is inform/call the...

Not even sure how to start this...but hopefully it's good for a laugh at my expense (and maybe an apology from me as well) on a Saturday evening... If a stranger just opened the door of your black 2013-2015 LC while you were still in the drivers...

Had a pre dawn visit from @Thechief86 and we spent a couple hours fitting the tranny to the engine and then getting it in the truck. Really appreciate the help of a fellow Mudder in this.

I bought mine 2 or 3 months ago thru a local dealer. It's a shame if they discontinued it. It is an amazing deal.

Well said by @pb4ugo  . I ordered/installed the light kit #81110-60P70 last month using existing Hella H4's, harness alone made a worthwhile difference. Below is my order from a local Toyota dealer on August 1, before taxes and shipping...

So I’ve been keeping busy as much as possible. My oldest daughter has me back to lifting weights. And even with the anxiety medication it still sucks going through being gutted out like a fish, “by in my humble opinion”, a narcissistic wife. So...

I would love one of these early North American market Toyota trucks. Love the 1979 with the round headlights.

It'll work. I have a '85 2F in my '77 FJ40. As I recall I needed to use the FJ40 front motor mounts. The '86 will have an oil cooler but the coolant lines should mate up the 40 lines ok.

Added some new shoes to the “Franken lights”. The bases are aftermarket that were appropriated for a field expedient repair to the original housings. @300$ sheckles for new ones, I’m going to ride that “mule” as long as I can come up with...

Thanks. I love the 3rz engines. I have one in my 79 hilux and have had a few others in the past. They rip. Adding a turbo to one is all new to me though, but i cant see how it wont make super cool noises.
