I noticed some weird fitment with the L shaped pieces and I though the same thing but I just needed to flip the pieces over and the fitment was perfect.
I'm not seeing the advantage.
I prefer to run a lower lift (under 3") and bigger tires This work really well for me.
A lot of heavily modified vehicles were struggling with this obstacle, with a 2" lift (netting 23/4" lift) and 39s I walked...
I have been running the 1.5" spidertrax spacers for years with 35's and with 37's. Some years were with the OEM wheel and 35's, and some with aftermarket 16" wheels. Since going to 37's it's been on an 17" aftermarket wheel. Whether or not...
What kind of shape is your core support in at the front body mount? I've seen several rust enough to collapse slightly at/above the body mount and that would certainly put undue stress in the locations where your inner fender cracked. Also, if...
Good suggestion. I'll check the core support but it all looked good when I replaced the body mounts a couple years ago. Worth checking again to be sure. I have trimmed the lower corners of the core support, so I suppose that could have...
I was working on a few things yesterday and had the passenger front fender (and snorkel) off and I noticed these cracks. I assume from body flex and making contact with the snorkel inlet where is passes through here to the airbox.
I welded up...
Right - once upon a time I had a Disco II and it would break my heart every time I had to repair it, which was often.

Nicely done @Box Rocket, I...

tach welded into place and then test fitted. I positioned the mount so I still have access to the bolster adjustment knob:
I was happy with it, so I boogered it up with some welds, cleaned it up and hit it with some VHT chassis paint:
And the...

Worst case: I had this winch on my FJ40 and there's a reason it's regarded as one of...
80 got a facelift. Was getting water in headlight with all this rain. Also both headlights adjusters have been rusted for years. Pattern was cross eyed!
So went with Depos and Colights.

Seeing all these posts of maintenance and mods makes me feel guilty. My 80 series sits in the driveway for a week or two than gets used and put away to wait another week or two. I felt neglectful and depressed after reading so many great posts...
Playing with some ideas for keeping the truck a bit more unique. Had some scrap vinyl and added a simple stripe. Need to wrap the cowl cover still. I know it's not for everyone but I kinda dig it.
