Mystery solved I think. It’s for a bolt to adjust the clutch travel on the upside.

Here are the part numbers for the bolt and the cushion that goes on the pedal.

If you knew half the he did with my vehicles you would be clapping . Borrowed my 78 F250 one weekend because he had reserve duty with Marines! Told him whatever you do just use the rear gas tank! Front tank was removed but filler neck was still there! He comes home Sunday afternoon and the truck was Spotless (never seen it look so good!) So I go outside and go Wow truck looks great, Thanks. I run my hand between cab and bed and my hand is covered in Black soot! I'm like WTF you do?? He says I stopped for gas and told kid to fill rear tank, kid fills front tank with exhaust directly underneath truck goes up in s, kid screws and I had to run into gas station ️ to get and put out . So dont feel bad for his Malibu

Instead of depressing the clutch and starting it and then trying to do all that clutch/brake/throttle footwork in that position, he just started cranking the engine over, and the starter drove the rig up the boulder obstacle before it fired off and he continued on his way up the hill. Effin’ cool!

@POTATO LAUNCHER has a cool hand throttle on his gear shift lever he designed just to avoid the footwork in those situations. His is DBC so not complicated, I suppose you could do it with DBW if it were possible to have another potentiometer hooked up that didn't confuse the ECU.

man, I tried that with a bicycle gear changer, but with drive by wire it gets complicated. Cool idea though.

Saga #2 of 78 f250 4x4!
So I had planned a weekend away 2 hours North on the lake! Bro was moving that weekend and ask to borrow Ford for dump run! With reluctance and hesitation I said yes (should of went with Gut!) because of Saga #1. So unbeknowst to me there is an issue that bro brings to my Father's attention, ( my Old Man don't **** around .) He says git in ya ****ing car and go up and tell ya brother what ya did, if ya dont and he's Surprised when he get's home he will kick your Ass, granted 2 hours trip 1 way . So I'm on the deck having lunch and just cracked a . I looks down the driveway and here comes a Bright Yellow Mustang ][. I'm like WTF he doing here on Sunday weekends over. Bro gets outta car and I say WTF you doing here? What's up. Bro goes Dad sent me to let ya know sumptin happened with F250. Already know! I'm like WTF you do. Bro says I was at dump and branch hit windshield and broke it! I'm like don't ****ing lie to me, (when was last time ya saw a tree at the dump.) You were 4 wheeling in da woods and drinking were'nt ya! Ya well, but that ain't all that happened . I was at Pauls checking the tranny fluid, (says the guy who can't change a ****ing car battery!) and when I closed da hood it popped into reverse and Smashed into Pauls brand new Mitshubishi Starion and pushed it into the cement wall . So not only mushed passenger side it mushed drivers side against wall $6,000 in da 80s is a lot of . Needless to say, last time Bro ever touched my rides .

Yep, a cool little mtn bike brake lever and cable!
I dunno about DBW, I have a German car that is DBW and it will randomly throw throttle adaptation codes that render it inop.
