The three fan supports together, homemade top, ('94-'02) Cummins center, 4BT bottom.

Easier to see the difference in fan support offset with the pulleys. Top pulley is factory 4BT it has an inch more offset and is larger diameter than the (‘94-98’) Dodge pulley on the bottom.

Drool. That kind of project is why I bought a mill and lathe. Can't wait to find an excuse to do something like that :D

Can you show us the tool used to cut the snap ring groove?

Can you show us the tool used to cut the snap ring groove?

I used a cheap Chinese boring bar ground to the correct width of the snap ring, the one in the tool holder is the one I used and the one on the right is new. I bought a box of these years ago for disposable tooling just for one off jobs like this.

I was looking for a Goodyear gatorback belt and discovered Goodyear Engineered Products are now branded Continental Elite, nobody local carries them and it took me a bit of digging to find the correct one but I finally have everything I need to move forward.

After waiting for parts for the last couple weeks I was able to bolt everything together yesterday and get a measurement for the new fan shroud. Because I have a fluid dampener that sticks out further than the factory pulley I ended up using the longer fan clutch “2779” to push the fan out past it.

RTC Auto Body (the same shop that just completed the paint work on Marv for @OldBeachBob) has the target carrier now, Ryan thinks about 60 days to get it back to me. This is the first time I've had a shop do any type of paint or body work and I was a little apprehensive but with all the other work going on in my shop and winter approaching I was left with little choice if I wanted it done this year.

I believe RTC will do a good job, Ryan seemed excited to get the job in his shop and he appeared willing to deal with my OCD. I’ll try to get out there a few times in the next 60 days for some update photos.
