Thanks for reading!I read the whole thread finally. Nice Pablo! That was a score finding your rig in Wyo without an engine in that good of condition! My bones are not as good. I see why you chose to keep it in a near factory state. your perseverance paid off! At one point you had it for sale and decided to see it through.
You had so many links in this thread I kept getting side tracked with so many interesting articles here on MUD. I finally started using my bookmarks more often. Should have been doing this all along!
I do have a few questions and observations.
I assume that the 3FE uses the same mounting points on the frame? I didn't see any confirmation either way?
The rear bumper Fabricator link is dead. Is this still available or do you, or someone, have a file could be used to send cut send? I like that simple design! I am a less is more kinda dude.
The radiator mod on the mounting points was genius!!!
Early in the thread you mentioned(page 1) the LCML....wow that brought back some memories. I used to read that email everyday! That's when I had my '79 FJ40. I totally forgot about the LCML. Due to life circumstances I had to sell that 40 and was bitter about it. At that point when I would see a LC I just looked away for a while. I couldn't stay away forever though. When I decided I wanted another LC I found MUD. I feel like somehow MUD replaced LCML.
Your getting ready for the 5 speed. I have one to install as well. I just may start it now. Maybe we can exchange notes.
Thanks for sharing your LC experience.
I found this Pig in NM, it was the Pig that donated the 3FE (and the ideas) that came from SLC and then went on to break down in WY.
Let me see if I can address your questions...
Yes - 3FE uses the same mounts as the F/2F.
The rear bumper is a Bump It Offroad original design. @gonzopancho and I are working to bring those products back - stay tuned!
I am glad you like the radiator idea!
Glad you are back in Cruisers.
Yes - the 5 speed! I have some things to figure out...
