Nice! A good crimp tool is critical! Do you like the Pressmaster?
So far, so good. It took WAYTEK like 6 months to get me the dies for the MetriPack 150-280 10-18AWG. Now I need dies for the unsealed MetriPack terminals 24-18AWG (small wire) which WAYTEK doesn’t appear to carry.
Sooo… I found this company that carries more PressMaster dies.

Here’s a question for the group -

Is anyone running a neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal?
Mine never had one, but the pedal bucket has provisions for one, so I’m considering wiring one in. Also can’t find a specific switch for that so am thinking it might be the same as the brake light switch?

*Not finding a clutch switch in any wiring diagram either 🤔

I looked at the European, Japanese, and General Country parts diagrams for a 1979 model and didn't find any clutch switch. Provision notwithstanding, I don't think there ever was one. Quick google search says it was early 1990s before a clutch safety switch was mandatory.

Not sure I’d like that, has been times I’ve bumped a vehicle in gear on the starter…similar to Bob’s friend, limits your options for sure. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Please don't take this wrong, but are you looking at the brake pedal and the brake light switch mount, just asking. :)

EDIT...Never mind just looked better myself, not the brake.

You could put one in, but why? Like Bob said it limits your options and is another failure point. If you are going to add a remote start then definitely add it.

No, not adding a remote start.
I always considered being able to have the starter motor move the vehicle a feature rather than a safety concern, but I guess it’s a combination of looking at the rather large starter wire circuit on a 2002-2003 GM wiring schematic and then hearing about some horror story of a truck going off a cliff or something because some kid or wife turned the key too far and the truck lurched forward, and yeah. I normally don’t get too concerned about that kind of stuff, but then add the provision on the pedal bucket and now I’m wondering.
The Highway 22 schematic also includes one in the circuit as “optional”.

Well now would be the time to add it!
What about adding a brake switch to the clutch pedal and then adding a momentary switch to bypass the clutch safety switch?
Meaning every time you want to use the starter to move it (hoping for some reason it won’t fire) you have to depress the bypass.

Just a thought…

So I am sour to neutral safety switches. I have an automatic and probably should have the switch, but for some reason when it is connected it drops my starting voltage to 3-4 volts. I bought about 3 starters before we figured that was the issue.

I was thinking about that also - a bypass for the bypass. Might be going a little overboard at that point, but I do like the idea.

I watched a guy do that one time in his FJ40 with a 350/SM465 drivetrain. For some reason he stalled out climbing this boulder on an incline (this obstacle gave everyone a hard time. Ol’ pal @RHINO popped a Birfield on it). Instead of depressing the clutch and starting it and then trying to do all that clutch/brake/throttle footwork in that position, he just started cranking the engine over, and the starter drove the rig up the boulder obstacle before it fired off and he continued on his way up the hill. Effin’ cool!

I do recollect 1 incidence were I could have used 1( didnt really matter.) Went out to warm up mini truck (with 3" tube bumper!) One winters eve, just put key in ignition and off she went

Dayum!!😳

Mystery solved I think. It’s for a bolt to adjust the clutch travel on the upside.

Here are the part numbers for the bolt and the cushion that goes on the pedal.

31301BCUSHION, NO.1(FOR CLUTCH PEDAL)
