Who, who, who was it?

Why do I keep thinking you were the one that had the distorted bolt holes on that piece? Makes no sense - musta been someone you were helping. Some of this stuff is starting to run together. Must be getting old.

I believe I'm the guilty party.

I’ve been wanting to do this since first seeing Scrappy’s tutorial. Now the question is - zinc plate all the hardware before reassembly? Scrubbed everything with solvent and dissolved all the oils, but what really cleaned everything up was soaking it in vinegar.

Would also like to get a new cable, or possibly have one made.

Black powdercoat to follow your theme. Why get all bright and shiny now?

Sorry. Mixed you up with Doomer.

@RUSH55 when I first bought my 69 pig it required two people to open the hood. One person to push down on the hood and one person to pull the lever in the truck. I messed with it some...ok a lot...not sure what I did but now it is a one person job to open the hood. Your cleanup looks good. I say plate it.

There’s a bunch of custom cable builders out there...

I can’t tell you if my issue was adjustment issues or just crappy design but if I was not parked on level ground my hood latch would bind enough that I would bend the inside lever trying to unlatch the hood, the Lokar latch solved that issue for me.
