Finished product to follow. Along with new tie rods, new front brakes, rebuilt front end. powder coated wheels and front bezel.

I wheeled :steer:

Worked on my front door hinges. Had to reround the hing holes on the door part of the hinges as well.

Figured out what I needed for new pins, then realized I screwed up, so the decision on the material will happen today. When it's done the pins should remove easily from the top or bottom of the hinge to allow for ease of door removal.

Finished up the discs and installed 4 new Toyota steelies.

awesome man

how are the new discs treating you?

:D

No double pumping anymore! I'm running a Wilwood unboosted MC but it stops straight with no fade. I love them. I'm still looking for a disc front axle but went ahead and used the JT Outfitters front bracket with the Monte Carlo calipers and Poser's brackets and discs in the back. If nothing else, I'll be out the cost of the brackets when I find the '76+ axle, but I have to say it was pretty easy and a lot safer than what I had.

This gives me a little breathing room and I won't have to worry about that single circuit master anymore.

hands down my 4 wheel disc was the single best upgrade i ever made to the 40 as its been my DD for 18 years... my 2c :D

I converted to discs in stages...
Front discs was my single best upgrade, and rear discs was the next best. That's in ~20 years and 90,000 miles.:D

filled it up with 2.92 cents per gallon gas:o/////////////////////////// and drove it in the 70 plus degree heat wave we are having in FEB in Gawja!!!!!!!!!!!! Good time to drive a fj40 with no TOP!!!!!!!!:cool:

No pictures, but drove my new to me 78 FJ40 to work for the first time... Yeah not nearly as exciting as everyone else, but it's a big deal for me.

Changed to BMW Seats

Installed BMW seats. These things tilt forward, so real handy to get behind the seats.

I lifted some parts numbers off the VW-Bosch heater blower motor in my truck :hillbilly:

and sent them to a MUD member who requested the info

Hey! its always exciting to drive your cruiser! Welcome aboard, and let's see some pics of the rig.cheers:beer:

That's high? I paid $3.49 for some gallons of regular lately. I'm going to tank up the rig and the jerry can this weekend in anticipation of $4...

I can do worse, just filled up the tank for $8,19 per gallon and that is with a discount.:hhmm::crybaby::bang:

Driving a car becomes more and more a luxury in these parts.:frown:
