Short story is yes- most just use a section of tube, this is quicker and cleaner without building a custom spare mount(1972 build). Needs the space to open to 90* as well.

Agreed, there are some challenges but nothing that makes them not worth using.

Someone will shout me down on this I'm sure, but for vintage Land Cruiser applications, those Fifteen52 Analogs are the best-looking aftermarket wheel ever produced.
