Installed some rear half doors. To replace my cheesy aluminum panel. Just need a bit of rust repair and off to paint.

I went with one that had been suggested used around here and what some jeep guys around here have used…harken? https://a.co/d/a4LawPh

The weight capacity seems low, so we’ll see how (if?) it works.
145-200 lbs capacity ought to handle a 40 top.

I am using the harbor freight $109.00 110V winch hanging off of a 1 1/2” 10’ long 11 ga box tube simply laid between the trusses. Press an up or down button on the controller and within 60 seconds your done…my 56 ford thunderbird hardtop is up there currently but it’s a simple 1 man job to raise or lower it…. 400-800lb capacity

Have used the same with excellent results. Very convenient and cheap

American ingenuity ..I love it!

Finally got around to starting my five speed swap, I picked up the transfer case last summer and transmission in the fall. After I assembled them, it sat in the corner for about two months. Last weekend I ripped out the floor boards and tunnel and dropped the front shaft. Today I finished dropping the rear shaft, oil, and the last of the connections. I was skeptical on using my ATV lift but was surprised to find it worked great. I used some shims to square it up and it came out rather easy. I did need to jack up the rear to slide it out and the 5 spd under. Hopefully tomorrow I will get it stabbed. More to follow......

You got the Transmission Tunnel Cover off without removing the heater?

I cut a hole to force myself to finish the project

Next step is the take the gas tank out and test fit and measure a lot!

My son and I took the hardtop off today in preparation for spring/summer and redoing the hardtop seals.

It was a balmy 45 degrees outside but we convinced my daughter to join us for a gravel road drive to get out of the house.

Oh! I had a sweet FJ60 tailing me on the way home from work Friday and passed an FJ62 at the same time. There’s an odd amount of old cruisers in Oklahoma.

I’ve had the trans cover off 6-8 times in the last 33 years. It has never occurred to me that the heater should/could come out. Never thought about it.

I learned it from the legend. This is such a great video on so many levels. How to go about a carb rebuild. How to take care on the steps. Kindness and putting people first. Marlin passed away a few days after this video was made. I have shared this in multiple places on Mud, but worth doing here.

Great video, thank you for sharing. I first met Marlin about 12 years ago and this was him to a tee, what a guy. RIP Marlin.

Not a good pic. Taken during the Great Bed Liner War. Heater remained intact.

Ah, OK, I am going to try and get it without removing the fuel tank or heater, but I think the heater has to go first.
