This morning as I was leaving the casa, I was admiring my High dollar hood latches! Those aftermarket latches are a waste of coin.

It's funny, people often remark "Must feel good to get it running and drivable." They see the whole package.
Like you, I see all the individual details and each one makes me smile.

The details are what makes the rig, between chasing the hazard knob or finding a replacement steering wheel to complete her!

Got Kermit running after a few years waiting his turn! PO had flat pistons in domed engine set up. Bad compression. Broken rings. Replaced flat pistons with domes, all new rings, headgasket, etc. Also did a carb rebuild to a tee. Its amazing when the Aisan carb is dialed in. Starts on the first try, no flat spots, secondary kicks in with oomph as does power piston.

...what did you do to the carb? Not boggy at low rpms?

Thorough rebuild per FSM specs. No bogging down at all! Clean thoroughly. Make sure all circuits are clear by blowing compressed air. Same with all jets, emulsifier tubes etc. Fuel fuel float setting is critical, as are throttle angles per FSM. Make sure your accelerator pump circuit is clear as well. Check your power piston operation under vacuum.

My storage hoist for the '67s hard top arrived today thanks to Amazon.

Hopefully I'll get some time before I head out of town to get the hard top off and start planning for the install of the soft top and bows thanks to @RevISK!

I started building a tire carrier.

Cool! I know you are at the very beginning and will be adding gussets, etc.
I bought a slick weld-on tire carrier from Wilco here in SoCal that I adapted to my early '63 40's rear frame. Nice unit and adds gas capacity.

This looks very clean! I can’t wait to see it when it is finished. Tag me.

Actually, it's been done for several years. I kept the spare centered until now but recently trimmed it shorter in both dimensions. (H&W)
Wilco makes a good product and being able to drive to pick it up sealed the deal. It's sized for a full size truck so shortening will fit/look 👍

Love the small parts storage.
No Yorkshire puddings on Sunday for you this week though..
I also find that a large egg box is useful for very small things (if you can still find such a thing).
I learned it from the legend. This is such a great video on so many levels. How to go about a carb rebuild. How to take care on the steps. Kindness and putting people first. Marlin passed away a few days after this video was made. I have shared this in multiple places on Mud, but worth doing here.
