That looks like a great and reasonable solution.

You can bolt that clutch pedal bucket in without taking the entire dash apart. I bought the whole thing from a used truck and ended up cutting off just the bucket. Bolting in works great and saves a lot of work. I have some details on that if you need.

Be sure to hang on to the auto until you’re done w the swap, you’ll likely need small stuff like the plugs from your auto NSS harness.

I had posted some notes and part numbers on my truck thread that might be helpful to you for a manual swap.

I found the brake line damaged. I managed to get the engine running normally again, we swapped the spare tire on and drove to our campsite for the night. Since I was almost 500 miles from home I didn't sleep that great - thinking about a damaged brake line. The next day I limped it home...

What crossmember are you going to use? I have a brand new spare transmission mount I'll donate to the cause.

You may be aware, early between the frame FJ60 transmission mounts match with the pre-3F bellhousing. Later transmission mounts, those the bolt beneath the frame match with the 3F bellhousing. Early mount/BH combo gives a flat transmission mounting while the 3F variant slightly angles the transmission. Either will work. Inspection covers for the BHs are also variant specific.

That is both a very good question and a very kind gesture. I was researching crossmembers in between shots, so not quite sure. I know the transmission @zeeklafreek has graciously provided is a later 60 one. I can glue metal together, so I was initially exploring that. I'll pm you.

That is correct, I found that out the hard way...so I actually have one of each lol

@RevISK Whichever crossmember you end up getting just let me know and I'll ship you the right mount.

I bought that jack to install my H55F split transfer case and new Cummins R2.8 and the transverse tilt broke when I was putting everything back in after welding the mounts. The transfer case is so heavy on the out put side I could not get the motor mounts to drop in on the front end. I used a hydraulic jack under the transfer case to roll everything level again.

I have a 3F bell housing and cover that were powder coated.

On the NSS - this is kind of OT but I had a sh*tty time with my old one - if yours works, SAVE IT even if you pull the plugs from it for your swap. It's 62-specific, NLA and someone might need it if they are keeping the A/T.

I do love the crowdsource vibe of this swap :)

I am saving everything I can that makes sense. Great info about the NSS.

The vibe is warm and fuzzy for sure. This place is generally awesome.
