Here in the Sierra Nevada it was common for the Native Americans to set fires as they were coming down from mountains in late fall/winter. It ensured new growth in the springtime and kept access to waterways open. It worked so well the cowboys...

Gray. Would the guy in your avatar wear white? Of course not. Go with gray.

Helped with this 1985 3FE Swapped FJ60, a Refresh - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1985-3fe-swapped-fj60-a-refresh.1309046/ @cruiserinsanity is doing most of the actual work. Popped out the old pilot bearing using the bread trick, installed...

Ok, since you work at Toyota dealership and can do the work let's re-rank this as a 75% bad idea. Now if you can get the guy to come down a few thousand then that lowers it to about a 50% bad idea, well within the realm of possibility. Once you...

Helped @cruiserinsanity get the 3FE on a cradle. 3FE is looking good. We painted the timing marks on the cam and crank gears. Next up rear of motor stuff and slapping on the timing cover.

What's the asking price? Paint peeling off, rusted out quarter panel, and that's all we can see. Bad idea. Toyota is dumping 3FE parts right and left, so OEM support will only become more bleak. You can't predict future value based on current...

I ran into this recently and it was the throwout bearing snagged on the front edge of the snout of the bearing retainer. A little pry bar action popped it free.

the short side axle isn't too hard but the long axle can be a MAJOR PITA to get lined up and fully engaged. Do you have an extra set of hands to slowly rotate the flange while you try to get it to go in? That is usually the solution. Keep trying.

See post #18 in this thread 1985 3FE Swapped FJ60, a Refresh - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1985-3fe-swapped-fj60-a-refresh.1309046/ This is a 3FE that has ca. 250k miles on it, has had regular oil changes using Rotella 10-40 for the most...

Going to clean this up, run some diesel oil for a couple of oil changes to try and clean up some of the carbon gunk, I agree with the other reply - don't run diesel in your oil, and skip other additives. Walmart has lots of diesel oils in the...

Did you use aftermarket or OEM seal? I had an 80 series rear diff rebuilt and an aftermarket seal was used and it leaked around the perimeter of the seal. I installed an OEM seal and that cured the leak.

Long breaker bar, deep 6 point socket or regular 6 point socket with a short extension and push or pull. If you just cannot seem to get enough force on the breaker bar (in can be awkward under the truck) place a jack under the end of the breaker...

3FE so the PHH is a non-issue. Fuel filter may be on the passenger side inner fender, at least that's the placement in a FJ62.

You have a 1992 which has the 3FE engine, it's a simple engine that's easy to work on and will deliver many miles of use if properly maintained. Since it is a 3FE and not a 1FZ you'll need to make that distinction when reading this forum and...
