Finished the engine mounts today. I mock fit my cardboard shock tower. It's close but I want to make a few changes. Also got at that trans pan. Not the prettiest but its water tight.
Cut the tire rack off the back bumper. Saved about 100 #s and it looks way better.

Very good question. I have 3 or 4 things I have been thinking about.
I have wanted to get a m100 trailer and set it up for camping with a RTT. So I could carry the tire on that.
I could just put it in the back cargo area.
I was also thinking of making a smaller swing out to be less obnoxious and heavy.
I have also been thinking about an old timey tire with a custom 6x5.5 rim.

On your transmission mod, I'm curious if a person can create enough clearance with a body hammer or do you have to go through the trouble of notching and welding in the piece like you did?
I'm ordering drive shafts this week and I have a fear that my CV joint will need some room. I'm not sure yet and I'm going to order my drive shaft in a 2 in diameter just to see if it helps with clearance so I don't have to mod.

I thought about beating it senseless. I decided to be a little more refined. The 700r4 I pulled out had the same notch mod from the PO.
I looked but missed it..

LOL you made me look back to see if that was what I linked. I couldnt find the actual lights I got but those looked like them. I just did find the pair I purchased a few years ago.

I got my steering box and plasma cutter on friday. I had to do something with them today.
This little cute thing is a blast. Had to go to home depot for a 220 male plug and the air fittings it comes with are doo doo. Other than that it works well.
We began to fit the steering box. Notice that inner fender missing. The new toy made quick work of that.
The box was all nice until we thought about the engine having room. After putting it back in a few adjustments needed to be made.
The shock tower is going to be quite a task on the driver side. Passenger side is designed and just needs to get cut out.
