With the 2” fill fitting in place, the tank can be managed downward through the frame with the rear crossmember out of the way and the shackle bolts pulled flush with the inside.

Q. Is the tank removable?

A. Yes

Might as well be welded. There’s a total of 16 bolts holding it to the frame.

I reversed the shackle bolts on mine (nut out) to be able to drop the 55gallon tank, it’s a bear but doable. The tank was sleeved and hung with allthread though -

Got the baffles cut out and welded together, and tacked on the inside - but only on the sides. Trying to tack it out along the bottom proved to be futile. Going to see tomorrow about using a spool gun to lay some stitch welds along the bottom before putting the top on.

The last pic is a layout of the mounts. 1/4” x 2” angle welded to some sizable 3/16” scab plates.

When I had to drop my tank is a PITA. This looks like it would be a challenge...
