I am looking for a rust free and good running FJ62 for a friend of mine who rolled his Tacoma. What he is willing to pay will depend on how clean it is and what has been done to it. Also would like to find one that is from the southwest so it is rust free.

After a brief love affair I’ve decided to sell my ’83 BJ60. I’m too poor and too mechanically ignorant for a 24 year old truck. Also, my expedition plans have been put on indefinite hold for grad school in San Francisco, so I have no need for this much truck.
Right now, the rig is located in Fairfield, Iowa (in the SE corner of the state). If I don’t get any serious interest soon, I’ll drive it to New Mexico where I’ll be working for the summer.
Here’s the lowdown:
The Good:
-Legally imported to the US and registered in Iowa. All papers.
-Legendary 4 cyl. 3B diesel motor. Solid as a rock.
-Low miles (284K kilometers = 176K miles)
-Brand new Toyota 4wd transfer case.

I have a client that has a 1985 FJ60 for sale in Truckee, CA. She is gorgeous, well maintained, rust free, perfect paint, interior, drives wonderfully. I wanted to post this up, only because I noticed A LOT of people were bidding on this seemingly "pristine' FJ62 on Ebay, and there is probably a good chance some of them are 'mudders':

I personally emailed the buyer and asked them WHY there was a chevy bumper on the 62, and why there was still blue painters tape on the truck. This was their response:
"We fixed molding and didn't remove painters tape at that time. I have this car with bumper shown on the pictures. Thank you. "
I'm sure this could just be someone with a very limited English vocabulary, but in my experience, the wording sounds very "scam-ish"...so BUYER BEWARE.

The buyer dropped out but I'm still eager to pick up a lift and other toys for my 80 so I've lowered the price down to $2500 to get this sold. Sold as is (buyer will be responsible for smog check) and $2,500 price does not include subs or amps- they can be included for and additional $500.
Well, I'm finally getting around to trying to sell my 1983 FJ60. I bought this in 2003 with around 13xxxx miles on it- it's now at 157069 miles. It has a clear title. The Cruiser runs well but the steering wheel gets a shimmy at around 45 mph. The body is in pretty good shape...
88 FJ62 Built on 37s - AL - FS/FT
Well, I just recently broke a vertebrae in my back, and am going to be out of commission for 3 months. I’ve been pondering buying an 80 or selling my truck and getting one later, so I figured I’d post my truck up here for sale. It is a 1988 FJ62 with 205K miles. This truck has been well built. The truck is located in Tuscaloosa, AL and I am looking for $7,250 or a trade on a built/semi-built 80 (at least on 33s with some lift).
Mods:
- ARB front bumper w/ Warn 8274 winch (150' of cable) and Hella 500 fog lights
- Slee sliders
- Custom rear bumper w/ dual swing outs and full roof rack with ladder built by Mark Whately (cut rear quarter panels, tucked right up against frame)

We are selling our 4-door 1989 Toyota Landcruiser affectionately called "Bruiser" for $2500. It is Gunmetal Gray with black roll-on bedliner on the bottom of the fenders and doors. There is rust in the usual places rear quarter, door bottoms and front fenders as well. within the last year we have taken in the Colorado and back, Minnesota and back and well as Seattle and back. Each trip there were no hiccups and "Bruiser" ran fine. The inline 6 cylinder 3FE which is fuel injected has about 100,000 miles on it. The body itself has 350,000 miles on it. It does leak oil which I believe is caused from a non-factory rear main seal. Bruiser has aftermarket fog/driving lights, electric windows/locks, AC and the factory stereo w/ power antenna...
Bj60 Diesel landcruiser. in excellent condition. completely redone with a new rust free body this summer. NO rust at all. New headliner, rear seat toyota shoulderbelts.
4 cylinder 3B diesel engine runs great and will always get you there. Standard 5 speed H55f Transsmission.

great land cruiser, originally from texas, brought it over in hope to built it up but no time. 141k, very minor surface rust underbody. the body is clean, not a spec of rust, just a couple of small dents.
lots of maintenance history. windshield has a crack. will be replacing glass soon.

I am looking for a FJ62 moderately built. I prefer a V-8 already installed, but not a deal breaker.
I would prefer not having anything with more than 200k on an untouched motor. If rebuilt, fine.
It has to be rust free or almost rust free. I had terrible experiences with a rust bucket a couple years back and could not work on anything because it was "fused" together.
I am serious and I am ready...cash in hand.
I dont want any junk or half-a**ed junk or tacked together mess.
I want something to run down the highway AND be able to hit the mud to get to my duck blinds.
Family vehicle is important. So, no cut and chopped seating please.
I am located in Arkansas, so the closer the better...however, I will travel...

This is a 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 model. This vehicle was purchased as a daily driver and has and has been for the last 3 years. I recently put a younger tranny in it and replaced the transmission lines. I also recently rplaced both front fenders and did a rear panel chop. I also remived the rockers and welded in 3" c channel steel for added rigidity and protection. The interior is mint except for a small tear in the driver seat. There are 3 pre wired switches in the dash that I had used for lights with a roof rack a year or so ago. Truck has been garage kept for last 12 years before I bought it. 1989 White / Grey FJ62. 236K Miles, 2nd owner, and lived in NC most of its life. All original body panels, motor, and transmission. Regular changes of Castrol GTX High Milage Motor Oil at every 5K miles. Motor and 4x4 run strong, and off road use was very seldom. A handful of small rust spots are visible on the paint upon close inspection. Additional add ons include 31 x 10.50 Firestone Destination A/T tires and audio updgrades. Includes alpine reciever, XM radio, Boston Acoustics Speakers, and Infinity Basslink 10" subwoofer and 200 watt amplifier. Sad to sell, but recent move to DC has reduced need for this type of vehicle. Hope to find new owner who enjoys cruisers and will care for this vehicle. It has many more years...
