Installed all the stock swithes. I had to relocate the Headlight switch because the guy who tore this FJ40 down in 1987 cut gauge holes and abandon this project. Happy that I added the autometer lighted gauges to the stock dimmer. Not crazy about modern gauges in this particular rig. I must say on my short 1 mile test drive having precise readings on Vaccum pressure, oil pressure, fuel pressure and RPM's was nice.

I did make my own. BOTH No template as this was a 78 with ambi doors. Mocked it up using a wooden ruler and filing it down bit by bit. They still need a little tape on them to be rattle free but work well.

Thanks.

Rattled canned the roll bar, installed CCOT rear bench seat, OEM style side mirrors, and my buddy Diesel Dan helped weld tabs for a 3 point seat belt. Loving my 40!!

Well, it was actually 2 weeks ago, summer family vacation, ya know.... but took the full doors off finally. Love the Quick Hinges - very easy to swap doors out.

Installed my newly finished 1/2 doors and TPI full Bikini top. Significantly better airflow than with the full doors, not as much as with the doors fully removed. However, my :princess: is not 'as' worried about falling out with the 1/2 doors installed.

The custom partial rear roll bar fits inside the hardtop and shades the rig better. I didn't want to goto a full roll cage - and hadn't considered using a second main roll bar loop and connecting with straight pipe - until someone mentioned it after I had the new bar shaped.

and i fixed the jump seat strap flapping in the breeze issue...

Looking really good Erik!

Replaced rear reflectors with OEM. Showing a few photos of the OEM part (far right) vs. the two aftermarket pieces I removed (left and middle). Surely OEM is higher quality, but the aftermarket pieces are by no means bad. The only reason I'm replacing the old pair is because the two units were installed at different times so one side is more faded than the other. Otherwise I think the aftermarket units are perfectly fine.

Filled up the tank with fuel and some sea foam for good measure. Then used her to help build a bridge on our property

Had to use the winch for a little rigging to get my "beams" in place.

And finally, I got to "load test" my new bridge. Its nice having a truck that is designed to accomplish many functions in our lives. It looks great going to get groceries and running errands around town, off road capability is unmatched and if need be can be used to build a bridge.
