Ebay has gone down the toilet in so many ways since the COVID19 epidemic first hit the shores of the west coast , and we all had that initial 2-3 weeks confined at home nationally , it's truly the wild west once again i feel , last August , i...

I’ll grab it when I get home. He’s where 90% of the rare parts are coming from, especially the ones certain vendors are flipping for big $$$’s. He originally was selling NOS Vader lights for 150$. Onur was nice enough to pass on this fellas info...

You also have to pay western Union. I didn’t like that at first. He gave me some U.S. references so I decided to try it. No issues. Honest seller

@Racer65 Aisin is another one of many Japanese companies that have become diluted in their culture by America. They are driven purely by the dollar and not by a balance of profit and value added monozukuri. Aisin doesn't "make" a water pump for...

I got the following response from Aisin: I am not sure if you received a response back from our sales team but this unit was discontinued due to low sales volume for Aisin. While it may be a popular part for your business, our manufacturing team...

Wow - lots of angst for this place. I think build date is what really matters on these parts, for example I owned a ‘9/75 build ‘76 FJ40 (US market) that had disk brakes, the master cylinder posted by @Racer65 and the short booster from the ‘75...

Put on a 4Plus bumper from Dave Gore. Great product, and he was a pleasure to deal with as I debated winch compatibility. Decided to go whole hog and swap the M12000 for an 8274. Can’t wait to put the winch through its paces at the Fall Gathering...

Yes, I am still strumming. I made and posted a half dozen videos to YouTube tw/o years ago when my mom went into ICU with Covid, and none of us were sure she’d come out again. She did.😉 Here’s a link to one: I miss my 3 speed. My dad bought it...

Not very productive on the cruiser ... just getting crunchier ... it’s in a sorry state. Truck is doing almost as poorly as I’ve been doing... things are looking up however ... replaced oil pan with newer small drain style, major leak is gone...

That looks like a 60020 for a '78. Every one of those I've touched was non functional which is odd because the Denso modules are usually pretty reliable. I have several of those that have been electronically repaired/refurbished and fully tested.
    • fj401978
If you have one you would like to send in for repair or as a core for a known, tested functional controller, let me know. I am pretty reasonable.

Here ya go, iPhone doesn’t do super well with extreme close up. Both sides shown Ordered a spare from classic cruiser to use as a comparison and so I can hopefully get the fan working for now and sort this with my spare.

And only the US had the plate with the model year indicated. For the rest of the world the only direct information we have regarding year is the first registration... Back then the 40 would take a while to arrive from Japan so typically over here...

4/72 was the start of the ambulance doors on a hard top. 4/79 was the fuel door opening on the side. 5/80 spare tire carrier changed to include another vertical brace. 2/76 was the date Canada had it's own listing in North America. I know even US...

Aisin just told me that've discontinued BMT-230, the master cylinder used for '76 to '80 FJ40. I almost spilled my lunch. If you're a vendor carrying Aisin, please send feedback to their management to express that this is one item they cannot...

I've had the '77 FJ40 for about 25+/- years. It now needs a lot of work and @cruiserinsanity plans on bringing it back to its former glory. It needs a new tub but we have front fenders, doors, top, and hood. 2F came from an '85 FJ60 and was...

My dad and I went in 50/50 in the fall of 1985 looking for something to kick around in the desert southwest. She’s still kicking with the original drivetrain but I’ve added mini-truck PS, the winch and upgraded suspension. Edit: I posted this...
