Do you have a link? I’m not seeing that. Thanks!!7/32 50' roll on ebay $32 delivered sixty four cents a foot
Having a little fun w the 40 for the summer........ making it my fishing rig. Nothing permanent here, a vinyl wrap and "hood ornament" going into existing holes in the hood. Also have installed an irish tweed head liner that I'm loving, but have not taken any great pics yet of that. Console is the tweed fabric, that pic taken prior to the headliner install.View attachment 3664066View attachment 3664064View attachment 3664065
Yo... where'd you get that plate? I was going to make one, but I wasn't sure if they were available somewhere.Using my 50 year old Navy training, if it doesn't move-paint it, if it does move-wait till it stops and paint it. Rebuilding the engine, sand blast the frame and paint it.
Looks good. That’s going to be a short rear driveline. Curious what the measurements are on that?
Very nice job! This weekend I was finally able to finish the Jump Seats that I got from @codyaustin5 ! I had to wait 8 business days for the foam to ship! Now, I could have ordered the pre-cut foam from some of our excellent LandCruiser vendors; I wanted to support them, but I also nerded out on foam, just like I nerd out on pretty much everything, and the vendors didn't tell me all the geeky numbers that went along with their foam. So, the foam I ordered has a density of 2.8 lbs and an IFD of 45 lb (firm). I got a lot of information and inspiration from this thread here on MUD: This Thread. I have pictures, this first one is the 1 inch layer of foam that fills in the recess on the seats. I easily cut this layer with kitchen scissors.

For the next layer, which is 2 inch foam, I broke out the electric knife, an idea from the linked thread above. I have a "meat" and a "bread" blade for the knife, so just FYI I used the bread blade.

This next bit of info was hard to find. The Cruiser Corps Jump Seat covers do have wire pockets, but they are sewn shut. I finally found a reference to that fact here on MUD and the consensus was that you cut your own holes in the wire pockets to insert wire. However, the bottom flap of each cover has a seam through the middle of the wire pocket as well, and I did not want to risk the integrity of that seam by boring through it. The solution was to measure and cut a length of wire, loop the ends, fold it into a U shape, and then cut a small hole to either side of the seam and slide the wire in and then straighten it back out. I used a scratch awl to punch a hole in the wire pockets, and then opened it slightly with an exacto knife.

That was the hard part, after that they came together fairly easily. I used the shiny new screw kit, and the olive color straps, also from Cruiser Corps.

Then the last thing to do was to easily back out the Overland Metric stainless bolts that I had installed a few years ago, with anti-seize, put the seats in, and then replace the bolts back in their homes, and now actually performing their intended duty.

It's so nice to finally have seats back there, it just really finishes the job. And now people won't constantly ask, "Weren't there seats back there?" LOL The last touch will be the seat belts, I'll dig back through my boxes in the shed and find those. Hope everyone has a great week, and happy 4th of July!
Can’t believe those are the same seats! Looks fantastic and great job! This weekend I was finally able to finish the Jump Seats that I got from @codyaustin5 ! Put my tuffy console in. I used the correct bracket but drilled 1 holes in the bracket, 2 new holes in the box so i could mount it with clearance for 4th gear and the rear heater WHILE also giving myself an elbow patch that works!
Like it a lot so far... it really changed the feel of the cockpit.
