Big progress day today. I’ll hit the highlights
- finished up seat recoverings and installed
- bled front brakes and master cyl (capped rear because I don’t have the right flex line) my 9 year old ram the pedal for me. His first time bleeding...
I was - I edited the post on my phone after selling them locally but didn't remove the photo. Appreciate you asking, I think I fixed it.
Sorry for the confusion.
Well, after a few drives things are shaking out pretty well with the steering. Still wanders a little so definitely need to get some caster shims in there to help with that. I'm considering putting some new springs on it, so I'm gonna hold off on...
I had a similar issue after doing a steering system and front axle rebuild. My steering is all stock but it turns out I had tightened down my centerarm too much. In the process of it all I tightened and loosened my steering box several times...
What year 40 did you order these for. When I put in my year('77) it comes up with a different part number. Just don't wanna order the wrong thing.
Thanks
About a month ago, I had asked the guys here for a recommendation for spark plugs and a nice set of wires without spending $100 for just the wires. No matter where I’d look I could not find the specific numbers referred to me in that post. After...
The original factory wiring is to light to handle the current draw of higher power headlights. So to fix this issue you use the original wiring to trigger the relay. Heavier wires are run from the battery to the relay and then to the new bulbs...
I was able to get one of these kits and get it installed in my 40 today. Excuse my ignorance, but why do we need the relays, fuses, and direct power from the battery as apposed to just being able to plug directly into the factory wiring.
Running a full medium kit in the FJ62 purchased from @TRAIL TAILOR and just purchased a spring only kit from him yesterday.
Definite savings going with Jason and he's good with making sure you are getting what you need. Asks great questions...
I'm ready for a new lift on my 40. I'm at least ready to get new shocks but don't want to spend money just shocks if I'm gonna soon switch the springs. Previous owner had a lift from SOR installed a couple years before I bought it. About 10 to 12...
^^This was it.^^
My haste in rebuilding and my ignorance on the proper way to adjust the center arm lead to the tight bound up steering feel. My local tire shop guy helped me figure out a process of elimination by which I could determine where...
Well. I guess I'll call my local dealer tomorrow and see if they'll at least give me the list price. I've checked a dozen more websites. All with outrageously high shipping. I mean come on. They'll fit in a flat rate usps box. Right? Should $15...
Ya, that would be nice, but unfortunately my local dealer will try to squeeze a nickel out of you if they think they can. I checked 3 different places to buy these and shipping was anywhere from $61 to $97.
