I finally rebuilt the carb. Idles and appears to run great, I still need to take it out on the road for a good test drive. It's not quite as clean as I wanted but it's still a major improvement and I'm just happy I was able to do it myself!

Finally solved my overheating issue. After replacing the thermostat and then the water pump to no avail, I finally tracked it down to a cracked plastic garden hose t-piece that the idiotic PO used for the heater hose. Replaced it with a proper brass t-piece - happy days, but still pissed off that someting so stupid cost me a lot of time and money!

Started fabricating front bumper and winch mount. Had to account for the Saginaw power steering.

coolerman sent me new WL and W 10ga wires (mine melted their insulation completely off)... I tore down the harness and taped up a few smaller gauge wires that had melted insulation and replaced the WL and W wires and re-wrapped the harness.

Today, I pulled the harness back under the dash and through the firewall and reconnected the driver and passender sides of the engine compartment.

I also hooked up a few things (light switch, key switch, etc.), took a shower and crawled into bed at about 10:30am and spent a few hours on my heating pad.

I have spine/back surgery on August 30th and was worried I wouldn't be able to get 44 back on the road before then... but, it looks like I may have her on the road by this weekend!!

Simple thing, but still makes me happy. Spent so much time getting my truck to run correctly that I didn't realize the carb cooler fan wasn't working. Blown 5A fuse by the relay. I think literally everything now works.

I'm the same man - I get it! When mine came back from a full rewire the interior light worked. That was the simplest pleasure ever.

Today, the final pieces of the panel work got finished.. which means paint prep up next! Today has been a long time coming.

That is one of the best looking fj40's I've seen. Love the color and looks like someone will get a nice buy! Good luck with a sale. Would be tough to build it for that price.

Just replaced the rear output T-case seal and the E-brake shoes---What a mess!--I know, I know no pics and it didn't happen-Coming tomorrow--
