Installed Dobinsons rear lower control arms, safe to say the bushings were toast in the OEM arms… not to mention one tweaked arm. Set them nearly an inch longer to center the wheels in the wheel wells. What a difference! Getting ready to do the uppers now to perfect the pinion angle.
Looks great man. Are the factory knuckle studs known to be weak? I am curious why you used Landtank ones. I am about to rebuild my front axle so thought I'd ask.Front end rebuild, little brake refresh, rear window rust fix and seal replacement.

I'm not an expert by any means but from what I've read, you can go OEM or you can upgrade to Landtank or ARP.
My 80 by all appearances lived a pretty tame life for the first 150K miles in Japan on stock tires. I added 35s and within a few months I had sheared off one of the stock studs in the knuckle, not even wheeling that hard.
Lots of opinions of course but to me it seemed that being very careful to clean out the knuckle threads, install the studs and nuts with proper torque, and check it periodically, you should be fine. Landtank claims that on his studs they're higher strength and have more of a shoulder for the cone washer to engage on.. figured I'd give it a try.

Man I am so pumped today!!! Picked up a 2nd owner since 95 factory locked. super charged since 150k. Currently has 469xxx miles not running but it will be!. This might be the highest mileage 80 series mud has seen?

I need to measure my s*** and figure out my true lift height. I am starting to think my 2" iron man lift plus 1" spacer in the front isn't really giving me 3"s of lift because I sure rub a lot. I am ready for some different suspension.

Dude lucky! I would love to live down there. Can’t complain too much, I guess a 4 hour drive to get there isn’t too bad but still.. enjoy it!
