Received bushing presses from @TRAIL TAILOR and knocked out a holder from scrap 2x4. Paint and labeling is next.

Installed Dobinsons rear lower control arms, safe to say the bushings were toast in the OEM arms… not to mention one tweaked arm. Set them nearly an inch longer to center the wheels in the wheel wells. What a difference! Getting ready to do the uppers now to perfect the pinion angle.

Accidentally bought the wrong window seal, this one has a cutout for a chrome trim piece. Oh well

Looks great man. Are the factory knuckle studs known to be weak? I am curious why you used Landtank ones. I am about to rebuild my front axle so thought I'd ask.

It's a little bit of a rabbit hole. It's worth reading some of the past threads on it. No I don't think factory is weak per se.

I'm not an expert by any means but from what I've read, you can go OEM or you can upgrade to Landtank or ARP.

My 80 by all appearances lived a pretty tame life for the first 150K miles in Japan on stock tires. I added 35s and within a few months I had sheared off one of the stock studs in the knuckle, not even wheeling that hard.

Lots of opinions of course but to me it seemed that being very careful to clean out the knuckle threads, install the studs and nuts with proper torque, and check it periodically, you should be fine. Landtank claims that on his studs they're higher strength and have more of a shoulder for the cone washer to engage on.. figured I'd give it a try.

Im so glad I asked you. I really appreciate you taking the time with all those links and info man!

I don’t have one. Didn’t start the throttle talk either 🤷🏻‍♂️
Useful for an electric winch too, since the alternator doesn't make crap for power at idle

what’s it for if u 1. Have an auto 2. No pto winch 3. Have cruise control
Idle up the motor while running an electric winch or even charging your neighbors battery.

More shenanigans..... 80 series are also good for shade 🤣

I need to measure my s*** and figure out my true lift height. I am starting to think my 2" iron man lift plus 1" spacer in the front isn't really giving me 3"s of lift because I sure rub a lot. I am ready for some different suspension.

I recognize that curve in the road.. you living down there?
Yeah, I just moved to Monticello!!!!!! I am loving it here.

Dude lucky! I would love to live down there. Can’t complain too much, I guess a 4 hour drive to get there isn’t too bad but still.. enjoy it!

To what torque did you tighten the Landtank knuckle studs?
