Yes, your description makes sense. I feel like my 3FE pedal is too far off the floor, too high in the air. Perhaps I should heat and bend before I give up on it...

If I can see your picture correctly, the bolt holes in the firewall are horizontal, and the holes for the Lokar are vertical?

J Mack, you deserve it keep it up Bud. Mig or Tig?

Thanks Bob.

Bob, the welds are Tig on the core.
Thanks.

Pablo,
The Lokar bolts are vertical and the top one lines up with one of the factory holes if I remember correctly (or at least it's very close) but because you'll space it off your firewall if you have any type of insulation you could make a spacer plate that bolts to the factory holes without much trouble.

I can only speak about my junk and the O-rings that were in mine looked like the cheap harbor freight rings.

On a whim I decided to pressure test my locker before I installed it and I’m glad I did, I had assumed that the factory rings would be good and for the little amount that I plan on using the lockers I would get years of reliable service, as it turns out I was wrong and now I believe I have better rings and they should be trouble free for my life time.

Behind on my reading and was getting caught up on your build. Ran across this and had the same reaction as Ron. Another thing to add to my upgrade list. Had never even thought to replace locker o-rings.

Just made it through this entire thread. Several similarities between our builds. If i can ever get some good forward mometum, I'm going to have some questions for you :D

By the way, went out to my land today. I bought 300 acres last year with an 1100 yard section that is flat enough for a shooting range. The land is fairly rough and is what sent my down the rabbit whole modding my pig. Once I can get a bulldozer out there, the plan is to set up a 1000 yd shooting range. I have a Barrett MRAD in 338 LM needing to stretch her legs

Great build, and your fab skills are quite impressive. Keep it up

Thank you TM,

I’ve taken a short break from shooting to finish the pig and already have five rifle projects stacked up.

Finished the first attempt for the AC mount last night. Some minor tweaking on the hole alignment and I can start getting my AC unit in.

Cutting the stainless for my air box.

JMack,

Turned out nice! I ordered some of those dampers, should work good. Thanks!

Love seeing all the new high tech pieces you're designing and putting to use.

That ain't even fair.....
Yeah, that's kinda cheating. :)

Cheating? Really you two are accusing me of cheating just because I read the entire rule book as opposed to using it for a beer coaster?o_O

This shows the locating of the ac unit in about the highest position, the mount has just over an inch of vertical movement and or allows for some cant.

This shows the mount attached to the original holes with the rubber vibration dampeners.

I need to throw out my 1965 rule book. Coaster? When I open a beer, I don't set it down.

JMack, are your shifters set back from the stock position?

I’m not sure of were the stock position was. When I bought the pig it had a V-8 conversion and the shifter came out in the square hole you can see in the photo in front of the tunnel. My factory cover was butchered back together so I have no reference points and now most of that is gone also to make room for the 60 cover I retrofitted. I can measure from my firewall if you need me to.

I’m in the process of letting my OCD get the best of me and moving things around.

No, don't measure, it just looks like you have a lot more room there, than mine.

That's a good spot for the ac, but what would you put where it was. Harder to run the hoses, though.

For whatever reason I don’t like the AC/Heater box hanging down under the dash as far as it does and at the end of the day I don’t want to see ducting so my OCD is kicked into high gear trying to get this unit mounted up high behind the dash. Air ducts would be a tad longer but no harder to run and other than relocating the wiper motor this location looks to be a better fit with less interference.

AC condenser mount with a spot for a Spal pusher fan.

Thank you Guppie!

A couple small victories today.

First, my battery boxes will work and I can now fit two batteries!

Second, my condenser mount is very close and with a little tweaking I will be able mount everything behind the grill and not have to modify any of the factory latches or bracing. It’s important to me to have cold AC and with an electric fan for the engine I wouldn’t get enough air flow over the condenser without the addition of a pusher fan mounted to it and as you Pig owners know space is limited for two fans, a radiator, an inner cooler and a condenser.
