The original arms and mirrors would go in the brackets on the upper door hinge.
The original mounts were still on the upper door hinges. If you know anyone that might want them, have them reach out to me.

I'm guessing that was done aftermarket and should probably be removed?

Also, the side rear view mirrors don't look like any I've seen on the other FJ40's online, so I'll probably need to correct that too.

Thoughts?

Diggin’ that aux lighting!

The aux lighting has been removed, and the holes filled with metal. If you want the lights you can have them for free plus shipping.

My favorite John Lennon quote is "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." I hope in the future the need for medical services go down and time and money for your new FJ40 goes up! Seems like every time I get close to buying the tires I want for my 40 something else in the way of a bill comes along. Oh well! Eventually I'll get there.

I hear ya. I cashed in my 401K and some stocks work had given me and put almost all of it into Nvidia stocks, so hopefully I'll ride this A.I. wave all the way to the bank! If it even comes close to the 5 Year forecast, it should turn about $18K into $1.75M and I won't know how to act!

If you can't afford to loose it, don't invest it!

Progress - Phase 1 Completed
Making progress. Phase 1 is completed. Any rust in the belly that was found has been cut out and replaced with new metal, the under carriage and floor pan & bed cleaned, then the underside coated, the floor pan and bed and rear fender wells coated, and the auxiliary lights & incorrect left & right mirrors removed and the holes all filled with new metal. Today she goes to Phase 2 - the painter.

Radiator Issue
Well, turns out my radiator is missing the rail / mount on 1 side, and the core is rotted. Can't replace the core without the rail.

Does anyone have a driver's side rail? Or a good condition radiator? Or, can recommend where to get the best price on a new one? I know CCOT has a better price than SOR. Anyone know of a better price than CCOT?

City Racer sells new OEM ones. Roger sorts through them to weed out the damaged ones then he packages them nicely so they stay undamaged during the trip.

Cruisermatt
A quick shout out to cruisermatt. Drove over today and met him in person, and picked up my brand new Toyota OEM radiator & cap for less than what a local shop wanted to recore my old one, and he sold me the radiator fan shroud I need. If you need anything, I highly recommend him.

Thanks Matt!

Front Side Marker Gasket
The gaskets for my 1971 (build date DEC '70) front side marker lights are in bad shape. I found and ordered a right (passeenger's) side gasket from Toyota Parts Deal but they did not have the left. I even ordered 2 of the right in hopes that you can just flip it over 180 degrees and use it on either side, but the bottom of the gasket is different and has a couple of formed notches, so if you flip it I don't think it will work properly. 'Maybe' I could fill in those 2 notches with black silicone. I've also looked on Ebay Motors. I could find the front side marker assemblies, but not just the gasket, and City Racer doesn't have them.

For anyone looking for the FJ40 front side marker light gaskets, I found them. I called BTB Products at BTB Prod Home - BTB Products - Land Cruiser Restoration and Parts - https://btbprod.com/ and asked them, they went and searched their warehouse, and they had a pile of NOS for both left and right. You can either order the pair, or 1 side. I did NOT find them searching their website, so you need to call them at 702-568-1511 to ask about them and tell them that Don in Auburndale Florida said they had them. 👍

Carb Brackets Needed + Famous Cameo Pic
(Also posted in the Classifieds as Wanted)

I need the 2 brackets being pointed at on this carb by a famous IH8MUD member / hand & carb model, cruisermatt himself. I believe he said one is where the throttle cable attaches, and I think the other is where the end of the cable attaches at about the 6:00 position in the pic. From a 1F carb will work. See attached pic:

1F only.
No throttle cables on 2F’s (other then some Non-US RHD stuff).
