Turns out i was misinterpreting the values on the timing light. What i thought was 7 to 10, was actually 14-17.
With it actually now at 10 btdc, everything seems happy
been fighting this as well.
runs great around town, but as soon as it gets up around 65-70, i get pinging, with lite throttle input...advance is only around 7-10 btdc.
That first pic is what I am talking about ! love that tray in the second pic. I am going to start using mine again. Perfect for keeping it all with you as you move around.
what your dealing with now is a bunch of aftermarket ignition parts , and some OEM ones like the small cap dizzy , these are all various Applications parts ,
- the aftermarket WEBBER carburetor is a separate topic , so we should keep it that...
If those are 33, it doesnt look like you have much in springs...2inch maybe.
With 33s and roughly 5inches in suspension and 0.75"s in bodylift...i just eek under an 80inch opening
closing in on 100,000 miles....that i've put on it....if you have a 40 series and are not driving it, you are missing out.
first photo from the fall of 2013, about 6 months before it returned to the road, and now.
