More update pics. Now, I know it looks bad / rough now, but like the owner of the mechanic shop in the movie "Doc Hollywood" (GREAT movie by the way) said when he had the lead character's 1956 Porsche 356 Speedster spread all over the shop floor "Now wait a minute, if I walked in while you're doing surgery and got someone's guts spread out", LOL. It's a work in progress.

When we went to take off the rear swing doors, what some people call barn doors, the studs that hold those hinges to the body snapped.

It looks like we will have to make a small opening in the top back side of the tub to get them out, and that they (the top left & right on each side) are bracketed together, but once we make the opening to get those out we should be able to just replace them with stainless bolts.

Does anyone know what size, thread, and length I need to get to replace them?

Just my luck, they are not listed on the chart. However, the ones for the ambulance doors are. Looks like they are an M6 and 16mm long. Does anyone know if they are the same for the barn doors?

CCOT said they run into that, and they use a 6mm x 16mm.

My 1971 FJ40 has a couple of rust holes on the bottom of the driver's side door. CCOT makes replacement door skins for 1975-1984. What's the difference between my door and a 1975 door?

City Racer is out of the liftgate gas struts. Does anyone know how long they are or what size they are? Maybe someone that has ordered them? It seems like I remember in an auto parts store seeing a bunch of them of various sizes, and if I knew what size they are I could probably match them up.

I clicked on the thing to be notified when they are available. I'll try reaching out to him too and see when he will have them again.

I also found these at less than half the price that come with the brackets and they say they will bolt right up to the factory mount holes. Has anyone tried them?

Thank you for taking the time to throw that out there, since I am a newbie and learning. It must keep you fairly busy doing that since my searching has found that many people have asked the same question.

Having converted my motorcycle's headlight to LED and seeing how much better it was, I definitely plan on using LED headlights on my FJ40. I know City Racer has them too. I did a quick search on Amazon for 7" LED Headlight that returned over 100,000 results and an Ebay search returned over 83,000 results.

Have any of you bought some that you are extremely pleased and impressed with that you would recommend?
